Thompson has notched three goals and a pair of assists in his first 14 appearances of the season.
EDGE Analysis
Thompson has just one 20-plus point campaign in his career and is on pace for a second. The center is managing to produce offensively despite not logging any significant time on the power play -- although he is averaging 2:23 of ice time shorthanded.

Thompson (ankle) will open training camp as the third-line center, Ken Warren of the Ottawa Sun reports.
EDGE Analysis
Thompson -- who appears to be back to 100 percent after playing with a fractured ankle at the end of last season -- will start out as the third-line center as Derick Brassard (shoulder) continues to work his way back from injury. The move will likely be temporary, with Brassard pushing the 32-year-old Thompson down to the fourth-line as soon as he is healthy. The veteran will also have to fight off rookie Colin White if he is going to secure regular minutes. With Thompson's ice time uncertain and his lack of offensive production -- just two points in 30 games last year -- fantasy owners will probably want to take a pass on him.

Thompson (ankle) was inked by the Senators to a two-year, $3.3 million contract, Sens Communications reports.
EDGE Analysis
Thompson spent each of the last three campaigns dressing for the Ducks, but didn't turn that time into a much offensive production. The big-bodied forward specializes in delivering hits, supplying 204 of them during his first year in Anaheim. It's unlikely he will gain fantasy relevance by shifting to Ottawa, but he continues to find work for his efforts. Thompson played through a broken ankle late in the Ducks' playoff run, but he still managed six points in 17 playoff contests and will likely be ready for training camp.

Thompson continued to play during the Ducks' playoff run despite a hairline fracture in his ankle.
EDGE Analysis
It's likely that Thompson suffered the injury late in the second-round series against Edmonton after he missed a practice prior to Game 7, but the injury was apparently not deemed severe enough to hold him out of action at all. The 32-year-old finished the postseason with two goals and four assists in 17 contests. While there's no guarantees at this point, hairline fractures tend to have short recovery times, so it wouldn't be surprising to see Thompson ready to go once training camp opens in the fall.

Thompson (undisclosed) will be available for Wednesday's Game 7 against the Oilers, Eric Stephens of the Orange County Register reports.
EDGE Analysis
Despite missing Tuesday's practice, and Sam Carrick being called up from AHL San Diego, Thompson will play through his undisclosed injury in the decisive Game 7. Over the first six games of the series, the 32-year-old has averaged just 9:45 on the ice and will likely see around that same total Wednesday.

Thompson is believed to be injured based on his missing Tuesday's skate and the Ducks calling up Sam Carrick from AHL San Diego, the Orange County Register reports.
EDGE Analysis
The Ducks have been vague about Thompson's ailment, but that's typical with the team about to embark on Game 7 of the conference semifinals. We can't see more than a fraction of fantasy players counting on Thompson anyway, as he's had some random offensive outbursts in these playoffs but is pointless in the current series.

Thompson scored a first-period goal during Wednesday's Game 4 win over Calgary.
EDGE Analysis
The veteran received a promotion during Game 3 and responded with three points. Thompson spent the majority of Wednesday's game centering Rickard Rakell and Corey Perry, which is a cushy fantasy gig. If the trio sticks together to start Round 2, Thompson is a potential low-priced flier for daily contests.

Thompson scored a goal and added two assists Monday in a 5-4 overtime win over the Flames in Game 3. He also skated to a plus-3, blocked two shots and dished out four hits.
EDGE Analysis
Wow, where did that come from? The fourth-liner mustered just two (!) points in 30 games this season, but was all over the place in this one and instrumental in the Ducks' erasing a three-goal deficit on the road. It's worth mentioning that Thompson received a decent chunk of power-play time (2:39), too, replacing Antoine Vermette on the team's second unit. If that assignment sticks, he's definitely worth a look in daily formats as a sneaky value play.

Thompson (upper body) won't play in Thursday's matchups against Chicago.
EDGE Analysis
With only a single point in 29 games, Thompson doesn't have much fantasy impact, even when healthy. He will be considered day-to-day, and could return in Sunday's season finale against Los Angeles.

Thompson has not marked the points column through 14 games this season.
EDGE Analysis
After missing most of the campaign with an Achilles injury, Thompson has returned to his fourth-line role and made no offensive impact. Additionally, he's starting 59.2 percent of his shifts in the defensive zone and sports a catastrophic 33.3 Corsi For percentage at five-on-five. The 32-year-old veteran is currently completely off the fantasy grid and that's unlikely to change this season.
