Koivu picked up an assist Saturday in Minnesota's 3-0 win over Anaheim. The point extended his point streak to five games (two goals, three assists).
EDGE Analysis
It's been a strong, yet quiet, start for Minny's famous Finn. He has six points (two goals, four helpers) in seven games and they haven't been easy opponents -- they've faced the Ducks (twice), Kings and Blues, along with the Jackets and Avs. It's unlikely he will set a new career mark in points at 32, but he might just be able to stabilize the decline in his output over the last four seasons.

Koivu scored a power-play goal in Friday's loss to the Kings.
EDGE Analysis
That's back-to-back games with a goal for Koivu, who has opened the season with three points in four games. While Koivu has only fired six shots on goal this year and won't put up huge goal totals, he's an elite puck distributor who has dished out at least 30 helpers in each of his last eight full seasons.

Koivu got the secondary assist on Zach Parise's game-winning goal Thursday.
EDGE Analysis
The 32-year-old Finn was bounced down to the second line for the start of this season and should benefit a great deal. Playing with Jason Zucker and Nino Niederreiter, Koivu should help set up plenty of goals. He's worth monitoring in deep leagues and could be a nice pickup if the Wild's offense stays hot.

Koivu doled out two secondary assists in Thursday's 6-1 win over the Sabres.
EDGE Analysis
Koivu is the longest-tenured member of the Wild, having spent a decade with the team so far. The 32-year-old sees the ice well and that typically results in an abundance of assists year after year. He has produced exactly 500 points in his illustrious career, with more than 72-percent of that total being assists. Expect more of the same for Koivu in 2015-16.

Koivu (rest) will not play Saturday against the Blues, Chad Graff of the St. Paul Pioneer Press reports. Both the Blues and Wild are resting a number of key players with their playoff spots secure, while also exhibiting a bit of gamesmanship due to the high probability of the two teams facing each other in the first round. Koivu will finish the regular season with 14 goals and 48 points over 80 games.
