Smith (leg) will not be in the lineup versus Seattle on Monday.
EDGE Analysis
Smith will be on the shelf for a fifth consecutive match due to his leg injury but continues to be classified as day-to-day by the club. Once the veteran is cleared to play, he should at least push for a split share of the net, though the emergence of Mikko Koskinen could see Smith conceding starts.

Smith (leg) remains day-to-day and won't be available for Saturday night's game against Vancouver.
EDGE Analysis
Although Smith will miss a fourth straight contest Saturday, he could be ready to return as soon as Monday against the Kraken. With Smith still on the shelf, Mikko Koskinen will start between the pipes against the Canucks.

Smith (leg) could be an option against the Canucks on Saturday, Jack Michaels of the Oilers Radio Network reports.
EDGE Analysis
Smith won't be an option for Wednesday's matchup with the Flyers, which means Mikko Koskinen will likely get the nod in his stead. Once back to 100 percent, the veteran Smith should be restored to being the No. 1 option between the pipes and will look to pick up where he left off with two wins in three appearances.

Smith (leg) was placed on injured reserve on Wednesday, Mark Spector of Sportsnet.ca reports.
EDGE Analysis
Smith will be sidelined at least until next Wednesday's game versus the Flyers. Beyond that, it's unclear how much time Smith might miss. Mikko Koskinen will take over as the Oilers' No. 1 goalie, while Stuart Skinner was called up from AHL Bakersfield.

Smith (leg) is considered day-to-day and will visit a doctor Wednesday to determine the severity of the injury he suffered in the second period versus the Ducks on Tuesday, Mark Spector of Sportsnet.ca reports.
EDGE Analysis
Smith's near-term availability will likely be determined by what the doctor finds. The 39-year-old had played well prior to an ineffective performance Tuesday before his injury. At this point, it seems like Mikko Koskinen will get Thursday's start in Arizona just to give Smith some extra time to heal.

Smith (leg) left Tuesday's game versus the Ducks after allowing four goals on 15 shots. He appeared to injure his leg in a collision with teammate Devin Shore, Tom Gazzola of TSN.ca reports.
EDGE Analysis
Smith appeared in discomfort after the run-in with Shore, but it's unclear if he was pulled because of the injury or due to poor performance. Mikko Koskinen relieved Smith in the game. An update on the 39-year-old Smith's status should be available from head coach Dave Tippett prior to Thursday's game against the Coyotes.

Smith will face off with the Ducks at home Tuesday.
EDGE Analysis
Smith will look to extend his two-game winning streak versus an Anaheim club that will be entering the second game of a back-to-back Tuesday. The veteran netminder is currently second in the league in shots faced (85) which is unlikely to change Tuesday, so fantasy players should anticipate a heavy workload for the netminder.

Smith stopped 45 of 47 shots in Saturday's 5-2 win over the Flames.
EDGE Analysis
While it's concerning that Smith has faced 85 shots through two games, he's been up to the task in winning both contests. As long as the 39-year-old plays well, he'll get the bulk of the starts over Mikko Koskinen. It helps that Smith has received decent goal support so far. The Oilers are back in action Tuesday against the Ducks, which is a favorable matchup for Smith if he receives the start.

Smith will tend the twine for Saturday's home clash with the Flames.
EDGE Analysis
Smith put together a solid performance in the Oilers' opening game of the season, as he stopped 36 of 38 shots in a winning effort over Vancouver. The 39-year-old netminder figures to continue to see the bulk of the workload over Mikko Koskinen this season and should be capable of cresting the 20-win mark for the sixth time in his career.

Smith made 36 saves on 38 shots in a 3-2 shootout win over the Canucks on Wednesday.
EDGE Analysis
The 39-year-old goalie was excellent for the first 50 minutes of the game before allowing two late goals to the Canucks. Smith regained his composure in overtime and stopped four of five shootout attempts to earn the win in the season opener. He was better than expected in 2020-21 with a 21-6-2 record, a 2.31 GAA and a .923 save percentage in 32 games. Mikko Koskinen figures to get a decent share of playing time to keep Smith, fresh, but the latter is the goalie to roster in this tandem. The Oilers' next game is Saturday versus the rival Flames.
