Halmo signed a one-year, two-way contract with the Lightning on Saturday, reports the Tampa Bay Times.
EDGE Analysis
Halmo has played for Bridgeport (AHL) for the last five seasons, appearing in 214 games (56 goals and 112 points). The 5-foot-10, 205 pound forward had an excellent season in 2015-16, delivering career marks in goals (22), points (41) and games played (74). He also put up 117 PIM. Halmo, who is 25, is likely bound for Syracuse for 2016-17 -- he last saw NHL action in 2013-14 (20 games).

Halmo was recalled from AHL Bridgeport on Monday, Arthur Staple of Newsday reports.
EDGE Analysis
Halmo was recalled primarily so that he can suit up for Monday's preseason contest against the Capitals. He may stick around for the Isles' final preseason exhibition against the Capitals on Oct. 4, but will then likely return to AHL Bridgeport to begin the regular season.

Halmo has accepted his qualifying offer from the Islanders, reports Arthur Staple of Newsday. Halmo will begin the season with Bridgeport of the AHL. He is not one of the Islanders top prospects but could see a call up should injuries or ineffective play hit the bottom six forwards. He is a high energy player who adds a little bit of everything but shouldn't be on anyone's fantasy radar unless you're playing in an extremely deep league.

Mike Halmo scored his first NHL goal on Tuesday. "It took a few minutes afterward, sitting on the bench to sink in. Then I heard it, through the speakers," Halmo said. Halmo was playing in his 13th career game. He's been serving primarily as a bottom-six forward and we wouldn't count on him moving beyond that role in 2014-15, if he makes the team at all.

Mike Halmo was one of three players called up by the New York Islanders Monday. A spate of injuries to the Isles' forward group has necessitated reinforcements. Don't expect Halmo to take on a major role with the big club this season as his AHL numbers have been mediocre to-date.

Mike Halmo received a 10-game suspension for hitting Nail Yakupov in the head during an OHL game. It was decided that Yakupov would miss what little was left of the regular season as a result. Yakupov might be selected with the first overall pick in the 2012 NHL entry draft. Halmo is an Islanders' prospect that recently signed an entry-level deal.

Mike Halmo has been suspended indefinitely for his hit on Nail Yakupov. Yakupov will miss the OHL Sarnia Sting's final three regular season games. Yakupov is a serious contender to be selected first overall in the 2012 NHL entry draft. Halmo recently inked an entry-level deal with the Islanders.
