Brown is dealing with an undisclosed injury, but Sharks head coach Peter DeBoer said he "should be fine for the weekend," with the team hosting the Ducks on Saturday, Kevin Kurz of CSN Bay Area reports.
EDGE Analysis
Based on early talk from the bench boss about Brown's availability for the weekend and the team's decision to call up forwards Nikolay Goldobin and Micheal Haley, there is reason to believe that Brown will miss Thursday night's contest against the visiting Panthers.

Brown ended a 49-game scoreless streak by potting a goal in Tuesday's win over the Capitals. He also tallied three hits and a plus-2 rating.
EDGE Analysis
A part-time player in his fourth-line enforcing role, Brown hadn't found twine in the NHL since back in the 2013-14 season, as his appeal almost entirely comes in the form of hits and penalty minutes, the only two categories where his totals are fantasy-relevant.

Brown had eight hits and a pair of shots in Saturday's win over the Ducks.
EDGE Analysis
Brown isn't a big fantasy presence by any stretch, but if you're rostering him your league probably scores penalty minutes and hits. No penalty minutes to be had here, but eight hits is a a huge game in that department.

Brown could have difficulty cracking the lineup on a regular basis this season, CSN Bay Area's Kevin Kurz reports.
EDGE Analysis
The Sharks missed the toughness and grinding ability last season from Raffi Torres and Brown, both of whom missed significant time with injury, but neither player is an ideal fit for new coach Peter DeBoer, who prefers to ice four skilled lines with scoring ability. With only 31 points in 349 career games, Brown doesn't really fit that profile, and could spend a lot of time in the press box as a result.

Brown (leg) was activated from injured reserve Thursday.
Coach Todd McLellan indicated Wednesday that Brown could make his return to the lineup over the weekend, and the winger's activation only adds further credence to that idea. Look for him to make his first appearance since Dec. 9 in either of the Sharks' back-to-back contests against the Coyotes on Friday or Saturday.

Brown (leg) practiced Monday, Kevin Kurz of CSN Bay Area reports.
There had been fears that Brown, who suffered a broken bone in his right leg back on Dec. 9, might not play again this season, but Monday's report suggests that the fourth-liner could see action as the Sharks' upcoming seven-game road trip progresses.
