Michal Rozsival missed Wednesday's practice because of an illness.
He probably won't play Thursday night, so look for Sheldon Brookbank or Mike Kostka to play in his place. Rozsival, Brookbank and Kostka have been rotating games since the start of the season.

Michal Rozsival would certainly like to play more, but he understands why the Blackhawks use a platoon situation for their sixth defense spot.
It looks like he's going to rotate with Sheldon Brookbank and Mike Kostka for game action this season. Rozsival decided to re-up with Chicago in the off-season, on a two-year deal worth $2.2 million a season, knowing he wouldn't be playing a full year's worth of games. He's just trying to stay ready for his next appearance. Rozsival earned an assist, two hits and two penalty minutes in the Hawks' regular-season debut.

The Chicago Blackhawks expect to see a few players make their preseason debuts on Sunday, defenseman Michal Rozsival included.
Rozsival joins Garret Ross, Byron Froese and Brad Mills on Sunday. Rozsival might not be particularly valuable in fantasy terms, but his defensive work is underrated.

Defenseman Michal Rozsival of the champion Chicago Blackhawks took the Stanley Cup to his native Czech Republic to celebrate for a day.
The 34-year-old veteran signed a two-year contract with the Blackhawks in July after his 12th NHL season. While in the Czech Republic with Rozsival, the Stanley Cup fully immersed itself into Prague culture, doubling as a beer goblet during a boat ride with Rozsival's family.

Michal Rozsival has re-signed with the Chicago Blackhawks.
It's a two year deal with no financial terms released. Rozsival played a prominent role on the Chicago blueline during their Cup win this season and also chipped in offensively with 12 assists in 28 regular season games. He had four assists in 23 playoff games. Pick him up in very deep pools late as he chips in with a few points and he should have a good plus/minus in Chicago.

Michal Rozsival picked up his first point in the playoffs as he set up Duncan Keith's first period goal Saturday.
Rozsival has one assist in 17 post-season playoff games and is plus-six after a 12 assist regular season with a plus-18 rating. Rozsival played 23:17 minutes in the double-overtime win Saturday after playing 25:28 minutes in Game 4 as he took over a bulk of the playing time of the suspended Duncan Keith. He averaged 14:34 minutes in the first three games of the Western Conference Final and should play as many minutes in the Cup Final barring injuries and overtime.

Flashy he isn't, but defenseman Michal Rozsival quietly has been a key to the Chicago Blackhawks' success in the postseason.
Rozsival is a plus-5 in the postseason for the Hawks, who lead Los Angeles 3-1 in the Western Conference final and would go on to meet the Boston Bruins in the Stanley Cup championship series with a win over the Kings today. Rozsival's playing time increased in Game 4 because of the suspension to top Chicago d-man Duncan Keith and he did well. "He's been tremendous the whole year," said Chicago d-man Johnny Oduya, who was paired with Rozsival in Game 4. "We have good depth, a lot of guys who can play those minutes. And he's a skill guy who's smart with the puck and makes plays. He's obviously a veteran; he's been around for some time and just showed (Thursday), when you give him that opportunity, he steps up and he played a great game."

Michal Rozsival logged 25:28 minutes in Chicago's 3-2 victory in Game 4.
That represents a roughly 10 minute increase in playing time compared to Game 3. The cause was obviously Duncan Keith's one-game suspension, which forced the rest of Chicago's blueliners to step up. "We're not about individuals. The whole team has been pulling on the same rope all season," Rozsival. "It's great to see all the guys contributing, even if we're missing a guy like Duncs. But it's important to have him back." Keith is eligible to return for Game 5.
