Michal Neuvirth was beaten three times on 21 shots en route to a 3-2 loss to Toronto on Tuesday night. It seems neither Neuvirth nor Braden Holtby is particularly interested is being the number one goalie for the Caps, as the two have been taking turns suffering through difficult outings. Neuvirth's 1-4-1 record is attached to an .893 save percentage and 2.99 GAA.

Michal Neuvirth saw a 2-1 lead evaporate in the third period against Toronto on Thursday. The Leafs took the lead and the win 3-2 in the final frame, but Neuvirth made some big stops to give his teammates a chance to even the score. The Washington netminder made 37 stops in the contest and probably deserved a better outcome than he got. He owns a 1-3-1 record on the year.

Michal Neuvirth will start in goal for Washington for a fifth straight time on Thursday. He has posted a 1-2-1 record thus far, while Braden Holtby continues to sit on the bench. It shouldn't be long before their starts begin to even out, but for now it appears that coach Adam Oates has his faith placed in Neuvirth.

Michal Neuvirth allowed three goals on 27 shots as the Capitals dropped a 3-2 decision to the Senators Tuesday. The Caps held a 2-0 lead in the game, but were unable to maintain the advantage as Ottawa stormed back with three unanswered. Although tonight's contest didn't end favorably we think Neuvirth has played well enough to earn another start.

Braden Holtby allowed 10 goals in his first two games of the year and hasn't played since, but he should get another opportunity soon.

Neuvirth stopped 22 out of 24 shots, registering a solid .917 save percentage. He has a 1-1-1 record so far. It'll be interesting to see if Adam Oates gives him another start or goes with Braden Holtby on Tuesday, as rest shouldn't play too large a role in the decision. He's been in net for all three of Washington's standings points so far.

Michael Neuvirth was solid in net for the Capitals against the Devils on Friday night, despite losing 3-2 in overtime. He made 32 saves, eight coming in overtime. "It wasn't easy game, you know. I didn't have a lot of work in the first period," Neuvirth said. "The only good scoring chance they had, they scored. But I battled hard and, after I made a couple of big saves, I settled down and played my game." It's a performance that drew notice from coach Adam Oates and probably gives him the upper hand in the Caps' goalie battle. "He really gave us a chance," Oates said. "And throughout the whole game, we got behind and we didn't crumble today. It was great."

Michal Neuvirth stopped 32 of 35 shots in a 3-2 overtime loss Friday night. Washington was out shot 8-1 in the overtime period and even then, Neuvirth came within 21 seconds of sending the game to a shootout. Neuvirth and Braden Holtby will likely split the Capitals' goaltending duties until one of them gets hot.
