Neuvirth was injured prior to his scheduled start on Friday and has not skated since. Phillip Grubauer will remain with the team until Neuvirth is healthy.

Neuvirth suffered a lower-body injury in warmups, before even taking any shots. The Capitals are back in action tomorrow, he could potentially play tomorrow if the injury is not serious. Expect an update after the game.

Steve Mason gets the nod against Ondrej Pavelec. I sense a letdown for the Wings in this one as Jimmy Howard has lost 7 in a row. Howard is struggling a bit this year and while Poulin hasn't stepped it up ever since Nabokov went down with an injury, the Isles are in desperate need of a win after losing 4 straight and 9 of their last 11....Reto Berra and the Calgary Flames travel to Anaheim to take on Jonas Hiller (LIKELY) and the Ducks. Hiller tries to get back on the winning track against a Flames team the Ducks should easily handle....In a game pitting two Western Conference powerhouses against one another, Jaroslav Halak (LIKELY)and the St. Louis Blues take their gear to San Jose to take on the Sharks and Antti Niemi. The Sharks have won 3 in a row while and 6 of last 7 while the Blues have won 5 in a row as Halak has been improving his game in that streak, allowing only 4 regulation goals in 4 games during that streak.  This should be a great game to watch and I'm not crazy enough to select who may win this one....On to 5:00 pm (ET) where we will see a battle of the backups.  The Montreal Canadiens go with Peter Budaj,...

Neuvirth left practice early on Monday and was listed as day-to-day. He presence at practice suggests that he should be able to dress tomorrow and the Caps will not have to make a roster move.

Neuvirth left practice early this morning after suffering a lower-body injury. Neuvirth is 2-3-1 with a with a 2.83 GAA and .912 SV% in seven appearances this season. The Capitals will have to make a roster move if Neuvirth isn't ready for Wednesday's meeting with Ottawa.

Neuvirth allowed three goals on 35 shots in a loss to the Coyotes on November 9. Tonight will mark his fifth start of the season and first against Montreal. In the friendly confines of the Verizon Center, Neuvirth is 2-1-0 with a 2.77 GAA and .910 SV% this season.

Neuvirth will start tonight as the Capitals save Braden Holtby for Sunday vs. Colorado. Neuvirth stopped 31 of 33 shots in a win over the Panthers last Saturday. He will face the up-start 11-4-2 Coyotes team who are the NHL's eighth best scoring offence.

Neuvirth stopped 38 of 41 shots in a loss to the Canucks on Monday. WIth Braden Holtby being inconsistent through the first month of the season, some strong starts should earn Neuvirth some more playing time. He has a great matchup tonight with the Panthers in town.
