Michael Frolik's upper body injury is related to his left shoulder.
Frolik fell awkwardly into the boards on Wednesday and won't play in Friday's contest. "Every day there is a little progress," Frolik said. "It's the shoulder. It's sore and I can't be really strong. We'll see how it is (later Friday) and hopefully it's going to be alright."

Michael Frolik is questionable for Friday's game against Calgary with an upper body injury.
Frolik fell awkwardly into the boards on Wednesday. If he is unable to go, then Ben Smith will take his place in the lineup. Frolik has three goals and seven points in 19 games this season. Stay tuned.

Michal Frolik's first game as a member of Chicago's top line didn't go as planned.
The Blackhawks were blanked by St. Louis by a score of 3-0 although the trio of Frolik, Patrick Sharp and Jonathan Toews managed seven shots on goal. If the young winger receives another opportunity on the top unit, we think he'll generate some offensive production.

Michael Frolik's days on the Chicago Blackhawks' checking line are over.
Chicago coach Joel Quenneville has moved Frolik to the team's first line. Frolik has spent all 14 games this season on the checking line with Dave Bolland and Bryan Bickell, a combination that found instant success last postseason. But after the Hawks allowed 10 goals in their past two games, Quenneville has made the change. Frolik now will be counted on to be more offensive on the top line with Jonathan Toews and Patrick Sharp.

Michael Frolik scored his third goal of the season in Chicago's 6-2 loss to Vancouver Sunday night.
Frolik has drawn praise from coach Joel Quenneville for his play despite the fact that his numbers haven't been overly impressive, which is nearly useless for fantasy players except that Quenneville's kind words might be an indication that better days are ahead for the young winger. Nevertheless, he's likely waiver wire fodder in all but very deep leagues. Marcus Kruger scored the other Chicago goal in the loss.

Michael Frolik has been getting plenty of chances to score in the early part of the season.
Frolik has 16 shots on goal in his first six games but has only two assists to show for it. "It's a little bit frustrating, especially when you have chances," Frolik said before Thursday's game in which he had five shots on goal. "The confidence would be higher if you had some goals. I try not to think about it too much and just play my game." He is playing well on a line with Dave Bolland and Bryan Bickell so it just seems to be a matter of time until he is able to find the back of the net.

Blackhawks coach Joel Quenneville has been very happy with Michael Frolik so far this season.
"Since the first time he hit the ice this year in camp, he's looked like there's a real committed purpose to have a big year," Quenneville said. "His numbers haven't been reflective of how good he's been for us this year." Frolik has an assist and two penalty minutes in four games. He's been playing on the third line and we don't see him moving up in the depth charts anytime soon. He might be good for the Chicago Blackhawks, but he won't do much for fantasy owners.

Michael Frolik looks to have found a home in Chicago on the third line.
Frolik had some trouble adjusting to the Blackhawks after being dealt there at the trade deadline but picked things up in the playoffs with five points in seven games. He will line up on the third unit alongside Dave Bolland and more than likely Bryan Bickell in what should be a nice scoring and defensive line for the Blackhawks. Look for 20 goals and 50 points from Frolik with more possible if he is able to play on the top two lines with any regularity.

Michael Frolik has agreed to a three-year deal with the Chicago Blackhawks.
Frolik scored 11 goals and 38 points in 80 games with the Florida Panthers and Chicago Blackhawks last season. He's worth keeping an eye on during training camp, but there's a good chance that he'll end up on Chicago's third line, which will significantly limit his fantasy value.
