Veronneau signed a one-year, two-way contract with the Sharks on Thursday. The deal will start with the 2022-23 campaign.

The winger is far from a lock for a spot in the lineup against the Red Wings on Tuesday and would need to beat out Filip Chlapik or Bobby Ryan to avoid watching from the press box.

Given that Ottawa kept his minutes low last season, it's not a surprise that the Senators will have Veronneau get some experience at the AHL level before bringing him back up to the NHL.
