The Bruins turned up the pressure from the opening drop and scored on a rebound 45 seconds in on its first shift. Another rebound from the top of the crease at the 13:26 mark of the first finished the scoring. Murray has been a strong play of late, but he can't do it all. Ottawa hasn't scored since Chris Tierney scored at the 2:54 mark of the second period of a 4-3 win over Carolina on Tuesday.

Murray will patrol the crease Saturday against visiting Boston.

Murray has posted a 5-3-2 record with a 2.37 GAA and .930 save percentage over his last 10 performances. The Bruins have averaged 3.11 goals for and 34.8 shots on goal as visitors in 2021-22, ranking 12th and 2nd, respectively. Boston is coming off a 4-2 loss to Pittsburgh on Tuesday and a 6-0 defeat in Carolina on Thursday. Murray stopped 33 of 36 shots en route to a 3-2 loss to the Bruins on Nov 9.

He was outstanding in his first game against his former squad. The only goal Murray allowed came in the second when Kris Letang pounced on a turnover at the blue line and fed Jeff Carter in the slot, who fired a one-timer shelf over the netminder's blocker. Murray has allowed two goals or fewer in each of his past five starts, and has been the difference maker for a young Sens squad. He's an underrated, second-half option in the blue paint -- this team has nothing to lose and plenty to prove, and that will be hard for most teams to manage.

Murray has gone 3-0-2 with a 1.55 GAA and .952 save percentage over his last five appearances. The Penguins have averaged 32.7 shots on goal and 3.39 goals for alongside a 15-5-3 record on the road this season, ranking ninth and fourth, respectively. The Senators were defeated 6-4 in their last meeting with the Penguins on Jan. 20, but Murray did not make an appearance.

Murray gave up the opening goal to Nico Hischier on a Devils power play, but he was rock-solid after that. The 27-year-old Murray has allowed just eight goals across his last five appearances while earning wins in three of those games. The Ontario native improved to 5-6-2 with a 2.72 GAA and a .914 save percentage through 14 appearances. He's likely to give way to Anton Forsberg for Tuesday's game versus the Hurricanes, but Murray could be back in net Thursday against his former team, the Penguins.

Murray is undefeated in regulation in his last six contests, having posted a 4-0-2 record and 1.95 GAA. If the Thunder Bay native can continue to play at this level, he should be in contention to secure more consistent starts heading into the second half of the 2021-22 campaign. With Murray taking the first game of the Senators' back-to-back, fantasy players will likely see Anton Forsberg between the pipes versus Carolina on Tuesday.

Murray has been faring slightly better since the calendar turned over to 2022, as he is 3-1-2 in his last six outings along with a 2.63 GAA.
