Roy is up to a goal and four helpers in 24 games this year. He's added 33 shots, 36 hits, and 44 blocked shots. He's currently skating on the second pairing, but he hasn't provided much in the way of offense in his rookie year.

He also skated a season-high 20:21 in the contest. Roy has four points and 41 blocks in 21 games this season. The 24-year-old blueliner is still finding his way on offense, but the heavy minutes indicate he has the trust of interim coach Willie Desjardins, at least defensively.

Roy has skated in seven games since his call-up from AHL Ontario on Feb. 16, but he has yet to record a point at the NHL level. He does have 25 blocks and 13 hits in that span, but Friday's birthday boy will have to hope turning 24 will bring better fortunes with scoring.

Look for the Kings to start ushering in more prospects like the 23-year-old Roy since the team has virtually no chance of claiming a playoff berth.
