Duchene got things started for the Predators just over six minutes into the game, getting his stick on a Matt Benning shot for his first goal since Feb. 11. Duchene was playing in just his second contest since returning from a lower-body injury and was able to snap a point drought that stood at nine games. It's been a bit of a lost season for the 30-year-old Duchene, who has just three goals and five assists with a minus-12 rating in 24 games.

Duchene (lower body) will be activated from injured reserve for Saturday's game against the Hurricanes, Brooks Bratten of the Predators' official site reports.

Duchene extended his current pointless streak to five games Saturday against the Blue Jackets.

Now with just eight points in 20 games along with a team-worst minus-12 rating, Duchene is currently on pace to put up the worst offensive totals of his career. The Predators are going to need much more from their No. 2 center if they expect to claw their way back into a playoff spot in the Central Division. Bench Duchene for now until he can find a way to right the ship.

For fantasy purposes, however, he's still a second- or even third-tier center option in most standard formats.

Duchene might be finishing up his quarantine if he arrived to Nashville a little later than most teammates, but it's also possible that he's dealing with an injury. Either way, there has been no indication that his status for the Jan. 14 season opener against Columbus is in jeopardy at this point.
