The second-liner is a decent secondary scorer who can contribute 10-15 goals, making him valuable in some very deep leagues.

Cullen missed just one contest due to the injury, but his role with the Predators appears to be on the decline nonetheless. The team welcomed back Mike Fisher (Achilles) to the lineup on Thanksgiving, and his presence may force Cullen to settle for fourth-line duties.

Instead, it sounds like he may have suffered the injury in Tuesday's game against the Kings, and he's now considered day-to-day as a result.

The Preds will welcome back Mike Fisher (Achilles) into their lineup Thursday for the first time this season, and it looks like Cullen will be forced to head to the press box as a result. Cullen missed the team's morning skate while all of his other mates were present, a sign that he'll be given the night off.

Cullen finally scored his first goal of the season Thursday, the game-winning tally in the third period of a 3-2 win over the Stars. Cullen's been surprisingly productive since returning from the lower-body injury that held him out for the start of the year, providing Thursday's goal and three assists in his first five games. Cullen's not going to maintain 0.8 points per game, but if he keeps seeing power-play time, he could get back to the 40-point mark for the first time since 2009-10.

Cullen is currently seeing time on the blue line for the Predators' power play, Eric Stromgren of The Tennessean reports. Cullen has registered an assist in each of his three games since missing the first eight games of the season with a lower body injury, and not surprisingly, two of those three helpers have come on the power play where he is now lining up on the first unit alongside James Neal, Mike Ribeiro, Filip Forsberg and Roman Josi. Given his elevated status in the Preds' lineup, Cullen represents very good fantasy bang for the buck right now. Jump on him quick and enjoy the hot streak while it lasts.

Cullen and Smith have some history together, as the two played on the same line for a stretch at the start of last season. If Cullen can stick on a scoring line, it would certainly provide his fantasy value a much-needed boost. Cullen scored 39 points in 77 games with the Preds last season, and has an outside shot at 40 points this season if all goes well.

Cullen (lower body) was activated from injured reserve for Wednesday's game against the Oilers. Cullen took part in Monday's practice and is set to appear in a game for the first time since suffering an upper body injury Sept. 24. It's not exactly clear what line he will skate on Wednesday, but he should have a spot somewhere in the lineup.
