Mathieu Garon defended 31 shots in a 4-3 win over Montreal on Thursday night. He captured his second win a row after yielding only one goal to Philadelphia on Wednesday. Garon, who has taken over the starting duties from veteran Dwayne Roloson, has 10 victories this year for the Lightning.

Mathieu Garon allowed just one goal on 32 shots Tuesday as the Lightning defeated Philadelphia by a score of 5-1. Although he's shown an inability to hang on to a starting gig over his career, Garon has outplayed Dwayne Roloson so far this season and deserves the chance to keep playing as long as he is winning. This appears to be a timeshare situation for the foreseeable future.

Mathieu Garon made 27 saves in Tampa Bay's 2-1 OT loss to the Colorado Avalanche. Garon played well enough to win, but Jean-Sebastien Giguere was just too good on this night. Garon is a solid goaltender that is much better suited as a back up, but he can take over for short stints. He makes for a decent bench option, but if he's in your top two you're in trouble.

Mathieu Garon is projected to play between the pipes on Friday. Garon was the first goaltender to get off the ice following the Lightning's morning skate, which is usually a good way of gauging who the starter will be. Garon allowed three goals in just 6:21 minutes on Wednesday before getting pulled.

Mathieu Garon stopped just five of eight shots in a 7-2 loss Wednesday. Garon lasted just 6:21 minutes. Dwayne Roloson replaced him, but went onto allow four goals on 35 shots. Neither Tampa Bay goaltender has been particularly appealing this season and their struggles will make it incredibly hard for their squad to make the playoffs.

While Dwayne Roloson has struggled, Mathieu Garon continues to perform admirably between the pipes in his expanding role. Sure, with Roloson struggling something terrible, Garon is the best option. But he is making it work. Garon, who is expected to start Wednesday at San Jose, has played in 10 of Tampa Bay's last 12 games. In that stretch he is 5-5-0 with a 2.67 GAA and .902 save percentage. While those are not traffic-stopping numbers, his solid game-to-game play has allowed Guy Boucher to feel comfortable in continuing to turn to the 33-year-old.

Mathieu Garon stopped 26 of the 28 shots he faced in a 3-2 victory over the Columbus Blue Jackets Saturday night. Mathieu Garon has played most of his career as a back up goaltender, albeit one of the most consistently reliable back up goaltenders. This season he has played his way into the starting role in Tampa. If he continues his strong play he can cement himself in his new role.

Mathieu Garon will play between the pipes on Saturday against his former team, the Columbus Blue Jackets. Garon has a terrible 3.51 GAA and .880 save percentage in six games this season. He's a decent backup goaltender, but he's not the solution to the Lightning's goaltending woes.

Mathieu Garon allowed four goals on 27 shots in Tampa's 5-4 overtime win over the Calgary Flames Thursday night. And the musical chair continues in Tampa. Garon has been better than Dwayne Roloson, but neither netminder has provided the team with very good goaltending this season. Given Garon's track record he shouldn't be counted on as a number one netminder. He should be used only as a spot starter in favorable matchups on your fantasy team.

Mathieu Garon will return to Tampa Bay's crease on Thursday when the Lightning host Calgary. He has seen the bulk of the starts for the Bolts since late November because his numbers are better than veteran netminder Dwayne Roloson, who has struggled mightily this year.
