Mathieu Garon (lower body) had an MRI on Wednesday. The MRI didn't reveal anything serious and he's expected to resume skating on Friday. He should still be considered day-to-day for now.

Mathieu Garon is listed as day-to-day after leaving Monday night's game with a lower-body injury. Garon, who was spotted without a limp Tuesday, said he was hurt while making a save on Evgeni Malkin during a penalty kill. "It's not major; I'm day-to-day and I feel better today and hopefully I'm OK," Garon said. "I'll need to test it on the ice and, in a couple of days, hopefully I'll be good." Anders Lindback will likely start while Garon is sidelined and it doesn't sound like Garon will need to go on injured reserve.

Mathieu Garon left Monday night's game in the second period with a lower body injury and did not return. The Bolts have seen some lousy play from Anders Lindback early into his role as the team's starter, so they went with the veteran netminder between the pipes tonight. Lindback did make 16 saves on 18 shots in relief, but it was not enough. The Bolts have seen some inconsistent play from Anders Lindback early into his role as the team's starter, so they are giving him a bit of a breather and an opportunity to work more on his game during practices.

Garon hasn't played much this behind Anders Lindback and losing to the woeful Sabres won't help him see more action even though his teammates didn't provide him with much in the way of support.

The Lightning play the Sabres who have been one of the worst NHL teams as they have only 13 points, tied for second worst in the NHL. They do however, have Thomas Vanek who is in the top five among scoring leaders in the NHL with 25 points.

There is a good chance that Mathieu Garon will get the start Saturday against the Hurricanes. FYI
