Mathieu Corbeil has signed with the Chicago Wolves of the AHL. Corbeil was originally selected in the fourth round of the 2010 draft by Columbus, but the team chose not to offer him a contract, so he will play for Vancouver's minor-league affiliate. He led the QMJHL with 37 wins, six shutouts and a 2.38 goals-against average last year with Saint John.

The Columbus Blue Jackets have decided not to sign Mathieu Corbeil. "I'm surprised (there wasn't a contract offer), but it's their decision," said Christian Daigle, Corbeil's agent. "We have no control on that. ...We've already moved forward. It's already in the past. We've already had interest from other teams." Corbeil will be available in the 2012 NHL Entry Draft. Columbus originally took him in the fourth round of 2010.

The Columbus Blue Jackets are still not sure as to whether or not they should sign Mathieu Corbeil to a contract. Corbeil has been a top goalie with the defending Memorial Cup champion St. John Sea Dogs. He is 16-0-1 with a 2.18 goals-against average and .917 save percentage heading into this year's Memorial Cup but the Blue Jackets are unsure as to how good he really is, playing for the powerhouse Sea Dogs. If Corbeil is not signed, the fourth round pick in the 2010 Entry Draft will go back into this year's Draft.
