Raymond (upper body) worked with the main group of skaters at Tuesday's practice for the first time since suffering an upper body in late October, Pat Steinberg of Sportsnet 960 reports. Raymond will not play Tuesday and will miss his 16th straight game, but he should not be out much longer.

Raymond (upper body) was able to skate Wednesday, Randy Sportak of the Calgary Sun reports. Despite Raymond's appearance on the ice, he's still considered week-to-week with the upper-body injury. He'll have to resume practicing before the Flames would entertain the idea of activating him from injured reserve.

In addition to placing Raymond (upper body) on injured reserve Tuesday, the Flames downgraded the forward's status from day-to-day to week-to-week, Pat Steinberg of Sportsnet.ca reports. The injury Raymond sustained during Saturday's loss to the Capitals was initially treated as a minor concern, but upon further review, the team's medical staff decided to reclassify the injury. Signed by the Flames in the offseason, Raymond had been a pleasant surprise offensively, contributing a team-leading five goals prior to suffering the injury.

The Flames placed Raymond (upper body) on injured reserve Tuesday, Randy Sportak of the Calgary Sun reports. The Flames needed to open up a roster spot for David Jones, so they decided to place Raymond on injured reserve even though he is considered day-to-day. Raymond should be able to return to action sometime next week.

Raymond is day-to-day with an upper body injury. The team is calling Raymond day-to-day officially, but he is not expected to play in Tuesday's game against the Canadiens. The winger has been off to a solid start this season with five goals and two assists through 10 games, and will look to pick up where he left off when he returns.

Raymond netted a goal and two assists in Sunday's win over Winnipeg. That's seven points (five goals) in seven games for Raymond, who skated on a line with Mikael Backlund and Johnny Gaudreau Sunday. The former-Leaf has fit in great with a young Calgary team, using his speed and skill to create offense. Even though it's unlikely he maintains this point-per-game pace, a 50-point season is very reachable for the speedy winger.

Raymond netted his team-high fourth goal of the season in Friday's loss to Columbus. Even though it won't count as a power-play goal, Raymond's third-period goal came just seconds after a Columbus penalty had expired. Raymond is off to a good start in Calgary, with four goals and 17 shots on goal through six games. Skating on the third line and playing on the power play, Raymond is likely to skate to another 40-50 point season in 2014-15.

Raymond scored a trio of goals to power the Flames to Thursday's win over the Oilers. After a quiet first game in Calgary -- he went minus-2 without a point Wednesday -- Raymond blew up in a big way Thursday, making the team feel better about the three-year contract he signed this offseason. Nonetheless, Raymond's only cleared 50 points in a season one time, and that was 2009-10, so we'll need to see more before we cry, "Breakout!"

Raymond (lower body) returned to practice Friday, Randy Sportak of the Calgary Sun reports. While it's unlikely that Raymond returns before the end of the preseason, it sounds like he'll be good to go for the beginning of the regular season. The team's top free-agent signing in the offseason, Raymond is expected to serve as a complementary scorer on the Flames' second or third line.

Raymond (lower body) was able to get in a skate Wednesday, Randy Sportak of the Calgary Sun reports. The Flames anticipate that Raymond will be ready for the beginning of the regular season, despite his recent limitations. He's expected to see most of his duty this season on either the Flames' second or third line.
