Ottawa sent Mark Stone down to the minors on Thursday. He suffered an upper-body injury at practice on Jan. 20, but he's healthy again and will work his way back into game shape in the minors. Stone has one goal and one assist in seven games with Ottawa this season and he could be back in the NHL at some point after the Olympic break.

Mark Stone (upper body) might be available for Tuesday's game against St. Louis. However, it's more likely that he'll be ready to play against Buffalo Thursday or Boston on Saturday.

Mark Stone left with the Senators on their three-game road trip. That does not mean that the rookie winger will be able play before the Olympic break as he is still dealing with an upper-body injury. Check back with us Monday for further updates on Stone's status. He certainly will not be in the Ottawa lineup Saturday night against Toronto.

Mark Stone (upper body) skated on his own Monday. Coach Paul MacLean is hopeful that Stone will be able to return before the Olympic break, but he isn't ready to rejoin the team for practices yet. Stone was injured last week at practice when he crashed into the boards.

Mark Stone is getting a chance to play right wing alongside playmaker Jason Spezza. Although the 21-year-old only has a goal and an assist in six games with Ottawa thus far, he has some natural goal-scoring ability as evidenced by his 18 points in 14 AHL contests this season and his 41 goals and 123 points in his final year of junior hockey. Keep an eye on Stone.

Mark Stone suffered a shoulder injury Saturday while playing for the Binghamton Senators. Stone had a shot to make the Senators on the second line but he was deemed not ready and sent to the minors to get time on the first line. He was being evaluated as to the severity of the injury Saturday night. Mark Borowiecki was also hurt in the game but it is not thought to be serious.

Mark Stone will get his chance to audition for Ottawa's second line in Tuesday's preseason game versus Toronto. He is projected to play alongside Clarke MacArthur and Kyle Turris. Cory Conacher, Mike Hoffman and Mika Zibanejad are also trying out for the position. All four of the guys bring a different dimension to the game," coach Paul MacLean said. "Hoffman brings the dimension of speed and is somebody who can really shoot the puck, Conacher has tenacity and skill with the puck, Mark Stone has size and good hands down around the net, but maybe not as good a skater. Mika brings power and speed and a big shot."
