Cundari signed a contract with Augsburger Panther in Germany on Thursday, TSN reports.
EDGE Analysis
Cundari went undrafted but played extensively below the NHL level starting in 2005-06. His big break came in 2012-13, when he made his NHL debut with the Flames, though he would only end up appearing in eight games total with the parent club between 2012-14. Cundari eventually was waived by the Flames, only to get included in the Sharks' organization this past season, recording three goals, five assists and 29 PIM in 34 games with AHL Barracuda.

Cundari, who was called up Saturday, is headed back to the AHL without appearing in a game.
EDGE Analysis
The 25-year-old defenseman was recalled largely as insurance and didn't find his way into a game. His fantasy relevance is low. He hasn't played a game this season or last, and has only eight NHL games to his name.

The Sharks recalled Cundari from AHL San Jose on Saturday, Kevin Kurz of CSN Bay Area reports.
EDGE Analysis
The Sharks reassigned Karl Stollery to AHL San Jose on Friday, so Cundari will replace him on the team's 23-man roster as a depth defender. Cundari has tallied a single assist in six games with AHL San Jose this season.

Cundari signed a one-year, two-way contract with the Sharks on Thursday, Renaud Lavoie of TVA Sports reports. Cundari skated at AHL Adirondack in the Flames organization last season, where he potted seven goals and dished out 22 assists in 50 games. The 25-year-old will serve as a depth option on defense at AHL Worcester in 2015-16.

Cundari was waived by the Flames on Monday, Pat Steinberg of Sportsnet 960 The Fan reports. Cundari was an early casualty for the Flames, who cut their roster to 40 players Monday. It's expected that the 24-year-old, who appeared in four games with the NHL club last season, will pass through waivers unclaimed and open 2014-15 in the minors.

Mark Cundari will enter training camp with a shot of making the Flames' opening game roster. Cundari had 23 points and 73 penalty minutes in 56 AHL games in 2013-14. The Flames only have six defensemen signed to one-way contracts, so there will be a spot available to compete for and we certainly wouldn't rule Cundari out in that battle.

Defenseman Mark Cundari has signed a one-year (two-way) contract with the Calgary Flames. Cundari, 24, is the latest of the Flames' restricted free agents to sign on the dotted line. The burly blue-liner did himself no favours last fall, showing up with an iffy cardio base. Coach Bob Hartley had not been impressed, ensuring Cundari's early demotion to AHL Abbotsford. That, he promises, is going to change. Cundari has modified his training - "not crazy different," he said. Less weightlifting. More running and cycling, more muscular-endurance work. "High-intensity, high-tempo stuff." Cundari has played eight games in the NHL, all for the Flames.

Mark Cundari is set to make his season debut on Monday. Cundari has five goals and 13 points in 22 AHL games this season. "I'm thrilled to be in the lineup," he said. "I'm just going to make the most of it. It wouldn't have been a big deal if I didn't play - I'm here for the team, I'm here to help them any way I can. Whether that means I play or I just practice hard, so be it." Look for him to serve on the team's third defensive pairing.

Mark Cundari will not be part of the Calgary Flames' opening game roster. Cundari was one of 19 players that the Flames' cut from their training camp roster in order to reduce it to 38 men. He got his first taste of NHL actions last season and ended up with a goal and two assists in four games.
