Marcus Kruger (head) has been given the green light to return to Chicago's lineup. Kruger has three goals and 10 points in 33 games this season. Thanks to Chicago having four straight days off, he's missed only one contest due to the injury.

Marcus Kruger didn't play on Wednesday due to a head injury. Kruger is dealing with the effects of Pittsburgh's Deryk Engelland hit on him during Tuesday's contest. Kruger has three goals and 10 points in 33 games this season.

Marcus Kruger's status for Wednesday night is uncertain after he was on the receiving end of hit to the head on Tuesday against Pittsburgh. Coach Joel Quenneville called it a "tough hit, a high hit in a tough area [where Kruger] was in a tough spot." The Chicago rookie took five shifts after taking an apparent forearm to the head from Penguins defenseman Deryk Engelland, but his night ended after 6:04 of ice time. Kruger will be re-evaluated prior to the game to determine his status.

Although Marcus Kruger has no points in three games on a line with Marian Hossa and Patrick Sharp, Blackhawks coach Joel Quenneville sounds like a man that wants to keep the trio together. "I don't think he's intimidated playing with a couple of top guys," Quenneville said. "He's strong all the time. He's just going to gradually improve in his individual game. We don't put too much pressure on him that he has to produce. Defensively is the best way to measure him because there's a lot going on offensively on that line." Kruger has two goals and seven points in 27 games this season. He does have some offensive upside, but it might be another year or two before he has any fantasy value. That being said, we still recommend keeping an eye on him as long as he's on the Blackhawks' second line.

Marcus Kruger's strong play of late made the decision easier to return Patrick Kane to a winger after he started the year at center. He is slated to center Patrick Sharp and Marian Hossa. Kruger has two goals and five assists in 24 games this season. Keep an eye on him to see how he does.

Marcus Kruger is projected to fill in for injured center Dave Bolland on Thursday night. Bolland will miss the contest with a foot injury, so Kruger moves up to center the third line between Bryan Bickell and Michael Frolik. Coach Joel Quenneville said that Kruger may get some power-play time as well.

Marcus Kruger has been impressing the Chicago Blackhawks with his play on the fourth line. Kruger came to North America from Sweden as an offensive player but with Chicago having a very good top-six, especially at center, Kruger has been forced into a fourth line role and he is excelling. "I wanted to show that I can play here," Kruger said. "At first it was tough, but I've got a chance here. Back home, my game always had offense. Of course, it's a bit different here. But it was the same when I got my first chance in the Swedish Elite League. I gained the confidence of the coaches. It's something you've got to earn." Kruger will eventually be a top-six forward but is learning how to play defensive hockey and that can only bode well for his future.

Marcus Kruger netted his first NHL goal on Saturday. It took Kruger 16 games over two seasons to accomplish that feat. He does have the potential to eventually be a top-six forward, but right now he's averaging just 10:25 minutes per contest.

The Blackhawks have recalled center Marcus Kruger from Rockford of the AHL. Kruger will come up to take the place of Brandon Pirri, who has been sent down. Kruger has no fantasy value.

The Chicago Blackhawks have sent Marcus Kruger to the minors. Although Kruger entered the preseason with a real shot of making the team, this might be better for him in the long run. Chicago didn't really have a spot for him on one of their top two lines and he should get a lot more playing time in the AHL. Kruger should have some fantasy value in a few seasons.
