Methot (back) will report to AHL Binghamton on Friday to begin a conditioning assignment, Wayne Scanlan of the Ottawa Citizen reports.
Methot will play for Binghamton in Saturday's game before the team determines his next step. The blueliner has been limited to just two games this season, as the back issues have been bothering him since training camp.

Coach Dave Cameron said Friday that Methot re-aggravated his back injury and is without a timetable for a return, Ian Mendes of TSN 1200 reports.
This wasn't unexpected news after the Senators returned Methot to injured reserve Monday, just over a week after he made his season debut. Methot missed over two months with the back injury the first time around, so it wouldn't be a major surprise if an absence of a similar length of time is in store for the blueliner again.

Methot (back) was placed back on injured reserve and is considered out indefinitely, Bruce Garrioch of the Ottawa Sun reports.
Methot made his season debut just over a week earlier after he was slow to progress from a recurring back injury that bothered him in training camp, and he lasted just two games before suffering a setback. Given how much time he missed the first time around due to the back injury, it wouldn't be overly surprising if another long absence is in store for the blueliner.

Methot (back) is expected to sit out Saturday's game against the Senators, Steve Lloyd of TSN 1200 reports.
Methot's lack of involvement at Friday's practice makes it unlikely that he suits up Saturday, as 1:00 p.m. ET start time won't afford him the opportunity to show the coaching staff he's healthy with no morning skate scheduled. Chris Phillips will likely assume his spot on the top defensive pairing once again.

Methot (back) will not play Thursday against the Kings, TSN's Brent Wallace reports.
Methot took part in Thursday's morning skate, but he is still experiencing soreness in his back, so he will not play Thursday night as he was expected to. Methot's next opportunity to play will come Saturday in Boston.

Methot (back) is expected to play Thursday versus the Kings, Ian Mendes of TSN 1200 reports.
After returning from IR last Thursday, Methot suited up for two games before taking off Sunday's tilt with the Canucks. The defenseman suggested the rest was more for maintenance purposes after the Senators had played three games in four days. With three days off to prepare for Thursday's tilt, Methot should be refreshed and ready to go.

Methot (back) will not play Sunday against the Canucks.
Methot returned from the injured reserve Thursday but apparently needs some time off the ice as to not risk further injury to his back. Jared Cowen is expected to take his place in the lineup.

Methot (back) was activated from injured reserve Thursday.
The Senators listed Methot as a game-time decision heading into Thursday's tilt, but his activation would seem to indicate that he'll be back in the lineup for his season debut. Methot was probably the team's top stay-at-home defender last season, as he averaged 21:45 of ice time and collected 181 hits and 110 blocks while working primarily alongside Erik Karlsson on the top pairing.

Methot (back) will be a game-time decision for Thursday's tilt with the Islanders, Steve Lloyd of TSN 1200 reports.
Methot, who skated as an extra during morning skate, will participate in the Senators' pregame warmup before a decision is made on his status for the game. If the team determines that Methot is fit to play, he could sidle in next to Erik Karlsson, who he played with on the top pairing last season.

Methot (back) will not play Tuesday against the Islanders, TSN's Aaron Ward reports.
Methot was expected to return to action Monday, but the Senators will hold off on activating him from injured reserve for at least another game. Methot's next opportunity to play will come Thursday.
