Fleury will man the crease Wednesday against Detroit.
EDGE Analysis
Fleury has made the bulk of the starts for Pittsburgh with Matt Murray (thumb) sidelined. Fleury is perhaps the biggest beneficiary of the World Cup as he gets a chance to take back the starting job for the Pens. Despite his regular season consistency, fantasy owners may want to avoid overpaying for the netminder given the uncertainty in how coach Mike Sullivan will handle the goalie split.

Fleury recorded a 23-save shutout Friday against the Blackhawks. "I thought he was tracking the puck really well," Mike Sullivan told DK Pittsburgh Sports. "He made some timely saves for us. He looked really comfortable in there tonight. And he obviously gets a shutout. I thought he was seeing it really well fighting through the traffic to find pucks."
EDGE Analysis
Barring injury, Fleury will start Opening Night. He doesn't see the preseason as any sort of proving ground. "Not really," Fleury said. "I think it's all about trying to get ready for the first game of the season. That's where my focus is at, trying to have good practices so when the first game comes, I'm good to go."

Fleury, who allowed three goals on 19 shots Tuesday against Red Wings, was cut lightly across his throat by a Detroit player's skate but remained in the game, DK Pittsburgh Sports reports.
EDGE Analysis
Forward Matthew Lorito crashed the Pittsburgh net, grazing Fleury with his skates in the air. "The guy drove to the net and fell down," Fleury said. "I felt a little something. I was lucky it wasn't too serious." With Matt Murray sidelined for the opener, the Pens need to keep the veteran healthy.

Fleury will see significant preseason minutes to prepare him for regular season play. "We'll listen to (goalie coach Mike Bales) on what we think is best for Marc and getting him to his A-game," coach Mike Sullivan told the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review. "We have a little bit of a game plan here going through the exhibition season where we can ramp Marc up so that when the regular season starts, Marc is in the best position to be successful."
EDGE Analysis
With Matt Murray sidelined for up to six weeks, Fleury will get an opportunity to take over as the team's No. 1 goalie in the early going. Tristan Jarry and Leland Irving are the team's other current goaltending options, but other tenders may become available as teams cut down later in camp.

Fleury will go through training camp as the team's undisputed No. 1 goalie after Pittsburgh revealed fellow goalie Matt Murray suffered a broken hand during the World Cup of Hockey.
EDGE Analysis
Murray is expected to miss 3-6 weeks, giving Fleury an upper hand cementing his role as the team's top tender -- at least early on. Fleury went 35-17-6 with a 2.21 GAA and .921 save percentage in 2015-16 before a second concussion sidelined him and left the door open for Murray. The Flower was instrumental in keeping Pittsburgh above water during the first half of last season when its offense struggled.

Fleury reiterated his desire to stay on the Penguins, the Pittsburgh Tribune reports
EDGE Analysis
Fleury dealt with concussion issues last season, which forced him to take a back seat to Matt Murray, who was magnificent as a rookie during the Stanley Cup championship run. Looking ahead to the 2016-17 campaign, It's believed that the netminders will come close to a 50/50 split in terms of playing time. Fleury, a two-time All-Star and Olympic gold medalist in 2010, would not welcome a trade from Pittsburgh after 12 years with the club. "No. No. No. I've always said this is like my home," he said. "I wish I could play here my whole career. I try to do my best for the team and for the organization." If you're worried about Murray's lack of experience from a fantasy point of view then consider handcuffing him to Fleury.

Fleury has had no setbacks over the summer after sustaining two concussions in the span of four months in 2015-16, DK Pittsburgh Sports reports.
EDGE Analysis
After a casual workout with 10 or so players Thursday, Fleury reiterated that he wants to remain with Pittsburgh, even though he'll likely start the season splitting time with Matt Murray. "This is my home," he said. "I wish I could play here all of my career. I'll try my best to be good for the team, the organization. And hopefully I'll stick around a long time." Fleury added that he wasn't sure how it would feel if no No. 1 goalie was announced. "I don't know," he said. "I'm sure Matty's in the same boat, too. We both want to play games. If that's what it is, that's what it is. You deal with it and I'll try my best when I'm in there."

The Penguins plan to head into the 2016-17 campaign with Fleury and Matt Murray as the goalies, the Pittsburgh-Post Gazette reports.
EDGE Analysis
General manager Jim Rutherford fielded questions from reporters during the first round of the 2016 NHL Entry Draft on Friday. There has been speculation that Fleury could be on the move after watching Murray take the lion's share of the playing time en route to a Stanley Cup win earlier this month, but Rutherford indicated that he'd like to start next season with both netminders. "That's the preference. That's been our preference since the end of the season. Unless someone really strange happens, that's what we're going to stick to," Rutherford said. Understandably, since the offseason is still in its infancy, the big boss wouldn't tell reporters who would be his No. 1 option in the crease next season.

Fleury saved 21 of 25 shots in Sunday's 4-3 overtime loss to the Lightning in Game 5.
EDGE Analysis
Making his first start of the playoffs, Fleury allowed the game-tying goal and the eventual game-winner. "It wasn't the best I've felt in a game," said Fleury. "Still though, I've been practicing a lot. I should've been better ... It's tough to lose." The Penguins are now down 3-2 to in the series and have the tough decision of sticking with the veteran Fleury, or letting rookie Matt Murray -- who's played well overall -- draw the next start.

Fleury will return between the pipes for Game 5 against the Lightning.
EDGE Analysis
Fleury performed well after subbing in for Murray in Game 4, stopping all seven of the shots he faced in the third period. It's quite possible the net will remain his for the rest of the playoffs if he continues to perform but Matt Murray still looms should he collapse at some point. The Penguins return home with the series even, looking to guard home ice to advance to the Stanley Cup Finals.
