Cliche was traded to the Islanders for Taylor Beck on Monday, Arthur Staple of Newsday reports, adding that Cliche will be assigned to AHL Bridgeport.
EDGE Analysis
This was a swap of minor-league players on a busy trade deadline day. Cliche, who is 28 years old, picked up 19 points in 38 games with AHL San Antonio but hasn't appeared in an NHL game this season. He has decent vision on the ice and is known for his solid line defense, but he's well off the map in fantasy leagues considering that he only mustered 14 points in 150 games with the Avs between 2013-15.

Cliche was reassigned to San Antonio of the AHL on Wednesday, The Denver Post reports.
EDGE Analysis
Cliche played in 74 games for the Avs last season but was only able to contribute seven points, showing just how desperate the Avs got when the team was decimated by injuries last season. Now with added depth at nearly every position, Cliche will start the season with San Antonio and will look to get back with the parent club sometime during the season.

Cliche recorded an assist in Tuesday's loss to the Kings. It gives Cliche his first point since Dec. 31, a drought lasting 28 games. The fourth liner's scoring opportunities are unsurprisingly scarce, and he's not an ideal source of PIM or hits, either, making him virtually untouchable in any format.

Cliche (oblique) has been cleared to play Saturday against the Blues. Cliche had missed the team's previous five games while tending to the injury, but was cleared to return after getting in a full practice Friday. Due to Cliche's impending return, the Avs reassigned Paul Carey to AHL Lake Erie.

Cliche is expected to miss up to two weeks due to an oblique injury suffered in Saturday's game against Dallas, the Denver Post reports. Cliche is a fourth-liner with just three points on the season, but it's yet another injury to a team that has been operating like a MASH unit all season.

Cliche scored his first goal of the season in Thursday's 5-0 win over the Islanders. As the Avs' fourth-line center, Cliche isn't asked to produce much offensively, as his seven points in 76 games last season would attest. He doesn't pile up the hits or penalty minutes, either, making it difficult to extract fantasy value from him even in specialty leagues.

"Marc-Andre has been a solid addition to our hockey club," executive vice president of hockey operations Joe Sakic said in a team release. "He has done a tremendous job on the penalty kill, has a great work ethic and we're excited to have him under contract for the next two years." In 53 games this season, Cliche has recorded six points.

Marc-Andre Cliche netted his first NHL goal in Saturday's win over Buffalo. He has picked up six points in 48 games with Colorado this season. Going into this season, Cliche had played in just one NHL game and it came in 2009-10 with Los Angeles. He doesn't have nay fantasy value, but it was a special moment for him.

Marc-Andre Cliche picked up the first NHL point of his career on Friday. It was only Cliche's second NHL game of his career as he has spent most of the last six seasons in the minors. He saw fourth line minutes as he replaced John Mitchell who moved up to the first line to replace the injured Gabriel Landeskog. Cliche has no fantasy value but it's a good story that at the age of 26 he is finally getting a shot in the NHL.

Marc-Andre Cliche will make his Colorado debut Friday. "I'm pretty nervous actually. I didn't get much sleep last night," said Cliche. "I'm just excited to get in and get a chance to show what I can do." He has one game of NHL experience and it came in 2009-10 with Los Angeles. Cliche was claimed off waivers from the Kings last month and he's getting a chance to play due to Gabriel Landeskog's injury.
