Luke Adam registered two points in Buffalo's 3-2 victory over the Penguins Saturday night. "We wanted to win this game bad," Sabres coach Lindy Ruff said. "You get an opportunity to play a team without a couple of their star players, you've got to start taking advantage of it." Adam continued to make a case as the #1 center for Buffalo as he finished the night with a goal and an assist as well as +/- of 1. He is very fantasy relevant at the moment.

Luke Adam scored a pair of goals Saturday to lead the Sabres to a 4-2 win over Los Angeles in Berlin. Playing on the Sabres top line alongside Thomas Vanek and Jason Pominville has worked wonders for Adam so far as the center has recorded two goals and two assists in just two games. Paul Gaustad and Drew Stafford both recorded their first tallies of the season in Saturday's win while Vanek and Nathan Gerbe each recorded a pair of helpers.

Luke Adam traveled with his Buffalo teammates on their trip to Europe, where they will open the 2011-12 season. He is slated to play in his sixth exhibition game Tuesday against Adler Mannheim in Germany between Thomas Vanek and Jason Pominville. However, the Sabres aren't expected to feature that line in their opener. "Right now, obviously, we're still in the evaluation process," coach Lindy Ruff said. "Derek [Roy]'s coming off injury. We'll take another look at Luke again tomorrow night. I think he's played well to this point. Brad Boyes is coming off injury [and suspension], and I thought his last game was his best game, so there's players pushing for ice time and position right now."

Luke Adam had two points in Buffalo's 3-2 win over Toronto on Saturday. The Sabres gave the Leafs everything they could take, squeaking out a 3-2 win in regulation. Adam scored a goal and an assist in the win. Christian Ehrhoff and Drew Stafford both scored for Buffalo as well. Mikhael Grabovski scored both goals for the Leafs in defeat. Jhonas Enroth made 19 saves on 21 shots for the win. Jonas Gustavsson fought the puck all night, finishing with 34 saves on 37 shots total.

Luke Adam wants to show a more well-rounded game at Buffalo's training camp. "I've just got to show that I can play both ends of the rink," he said. "I learned a lot last year in my 19 games, whether it was playing away from the puck or D-zone coverage or offensive zone. I'm real grateful for the opportunity that I'm going to be given, and hopefully I take full advantage of this and make this hockey team." Adam has played with fellow Sabres' prospects Marcus Foligno and Zack Kassian since camp opened and he stands the best chance of the three to start the year in the NHL.

Luke Adam wants to make Buffalo's roster out of training camp. "My goal going into [training] camp is to make this team," said Adam, who is currently attending the team's prospects camp. "I feel I learned a lot last year, with the time I spent up here and the time I was in the American League. I think I came a long way, and I'll just put in a hard summer of work and hopefully start the season for the Sabres." Adam had four points in 19 appearances with Buffalo in 2010-11 and he captured the rookie of the year honor at the AHL level as well. He is a player to keep an eye on this fall.
