Ullmark was recalled from the minors Monday.
EDGE Analysis
Ullmark's promotion comes as starter Robin Lehner was not on the ice for practice Monday, per John Vogl of The Buffalo News. Whether the 23-year-old Ullmark is with the Sabres for an extended stretch is tied directly to the health of Lehner. Buffalo should provide an update ahead of Tuesday's clash with Winnipeg.

Ullmark's 508 saves ranks first in the AHL among qualified goalies, and currently sports a 11-3-3 record with a .920 save percentage, propelling the Amerks to second place in the North Division.
EDGE Analysis
Ullmark came over from Sweden as a highly-touted goaltender, winning the Swedish League's equivalent of the Vezina Trophy at 21 years old. The former sixth-round pick has improved in each of his three seasons in the AHL, improving his save percentage from .902 in his rookie season to .920 this year, and his GAA from 3.41 to 2.63. He has been one of the league's best goaltenders, and could be Buffalo's goalie of the future should Robin Lehner not pan out.

Ullmark was reassigned to AHL Rochester on Friday.
EDGE Analysis
We saw this move coming from a mile away, as Ullmark was only called up Thursday to practice with the big boys. Buffalo has babied the tall tender since drafting him in the sixth round of the 2012 NHL Entry Draft, as he's appeared in only 21 games at the highest level, posting an 8-11-2 record, 2.64 GAA and .913 save percentage. Ullmark is sure to be the first goalie called up in the event of injuries to Robin Lehner or Chad Johnson.

Ullmark was called up from AHL Rochester on Thursday. However, Bill Hoppe of the Olean Times Herald clarifies that the transaction was made "just for practice."
EDGE Analysis
Since it doesn't sound like Ullmark will draw into any games at the highest level upon this recall, his fantasy value will remain negligible. Buffalo's sixth-round (163rd overall) draft choice from 2012 has gone 9-3-0 with a 2.86 GAA and .919 save percentage with the Americans this season.

Ullmark was sent down to the minors Thursday.
EDGE Analysis
Ullmark manned the crease for just one outing for the Sabres last season -- a three-goal loss -- instead spending the majority of the campaign with AHL Rochester. The 24-year-old put up decent numbers with the Americans, as he went 26-27-2 with a .909 save percentage, but was a long shot to make the 23-man roster after Buffalo brought back Chad Johnson to serve as the backup.

Ullmark will be between the pipes Friday against Toronto, Paul Hamilton of WGR 550 reports.
EDGE Analysis
Ullmark will get a chance to play against one of the Sabres' biggest rivals, although there has been no word if he'll play the entire game. He's firmly entrenched as the team's No. 3 goalie behind Robin Lehner and Chad Johnson, and he's slated to be AHL Rochester's No. 1 for the season. The former Swedish League Goalie of the Year went 26-27-2 in 55 games with Rochester last season and he's expected to improve those numbers. He'll face plenty of competition with Jonas Johansson, Jason Kasdorf and Adam Wilcox in the system, but Ullmark's got the highest ceiling of the bunch and has the potential to be a No. 1 goalie in the NHL some day.

The Sabres signed Chad Johnson on Saturday, which likely pushes Ullmark back to AHL Rochester as the organization's No. 3 goalie. John Vogl of The Buffalo News reports. "I think he could handle the backup role in the National Hockey League this upcoming year, but it's also as a young goalie, I'm a big believer that he needs to be playing," GM Jason Botterill said of Ullmark . "With the scenario of having Robin and Chad, and Ullmark in the three-hole, it's a real strength of our organization. If there are injuries along the way, we're going to be well-prepared."
EDGE Analysis
The Sabres still think highly of the 23-year-old, as they seemed to go out of their way to make sure the Vegas Golden Knights wouldn't select him as an exposed player. The key to all this might be how starter Robin Lehner works out, as the team is in rebuild mold and the new regime isn't the one that made a big bet on the veteran. For now, Ullmark will bide his time and try to make a good impression as Rochester's likely No. 1 guy.

Ullmark was one of two Buffalo goalies exposed to the expansion draft.
EDGE Analysis
The Sabres were in a tough spot here because they had to protect incumbent starter Robin Lehner, and Ullmark is certainly an intriguing player for Vegas. The 23-year-old netminder was a former Swedish League Goalie of the Year winner, and recently signed a two-year, one-way contract worth $750,000 per season, and due to his lack of experience is exempt from waivers. With Marc-Andre Fleury basically assured to be Vegas' starting goalie, Ullmark is a highly-regarded prospect who can either back up Fleury or start for the Chicago Wolves, Vegas' AHL affiliate. The Sabres can afford to lose Ullmark because of their relatively strong goaltending depth with prospects Jonas Johansson, Jason Kasdorf and potentially Cal Petersen (still unsigned), but it would be unfortunate to lose Ullmark for nothing. The Sabres, however, also somewhat surprisingly left veteran defensemen Josh Gorges and Zach Bogosian unprotected, taking a gamble that Vegas would prefer a veteran defenseman over a developing and largely unproven goalie. If Ullmark stays in Buffalo, he's the leading candidate to back up Lehner or start for AHL Rochester.

Ullmark signed a two-year deal with Buffalo on Tuesday, averaging $750,000 per year.
EDGE Analysis
The 23-year-old backstop only made one appearance in the big league last season, a loss in the season finale where he deflected 33 of the 36 shots he faced. Ullmark's .909 save percentage in the AHL isn't overly impressive either, though. It'll likely still be a few years until he makes the jump into a full-time NHL role, but the Sabres see enough the youngster to keep him in the organization for the time being.

Ullmark was reassigned to AHL Rochester on Monday.
EDGE Analysis
The move was expected, as Ullmark was brought up to Buffalo to make his lone start of the season in the team's final game Sunday. He'll rejoin the Americans and look to improve upon his 25-26-2 record, .909 save percentage and 2.86 GAA in the team's final three games of the campaign.
