The Calgary Flames have suspended Lane MacDermid for failing to report to AHL Abbotsford after the AHL all-star break. It's not clear why MacDermid chose not to return to the team. Calgary acquired him from the Dallas Stars in November in exchange for a 2014 sixth round pick.

Lane MacDermid has returned to AHL Abbotsford. Calgary acquired MacDermid from Dallas on Nov. 22 in exchange for a sixth round pick. He has four points and 36 penalty minutes in 21 career games.

Lane MacDermid will play on fourth line in his Flames' debut Friday night. MacDermid was called up Thursday after being acquired from Dallas on Nov. 22. He had two assists in six games with Dallas this season.

The Calgary Flames have traded their sixth round pick in the 2014 NHL Entry Draft to the Dallas Stars in exchange for Lane MacDermid. Calgary acquired a sixth round pick from Anaheim on Thursday in exchange for Tim Jackman. MacDermid, who recently successfully cleared waivers, has two assists in six games this season.

Lane MacDermid has cleared waivers but he's still with Dallas and is eligible to play Thursday. However, he'll probably be a healthy scratch judging from the Stars' line rushes at practice. Ray Whitney (groin) isn't expected to play Thursday night, but when he's healthy it's believed that MacDermid will be sent down to the AHL.

Lane MacDermid has been placed on waivers by the Dallas Stars. MacDermid has two assists in six games with Dallas this season. He's on a one-year, two-way contract worth $660,000 at the NHL level.

Lane MacDermid picked up his first point of the season on Saturday. MacDermid has two goals and three points in 17 career NHL games. If he ever earns a permanent spot with an NHL club, he'll be known among fantasy circles for the amount of time he spends in the sin bin rather than his offensive abilities.

Dallas Stars sign Lane MacDermid to one-year contract. The Stars acquired MacDermid in the Jaromir Jagr trade. He had two goals and nine penalty minutes in six games with Dallas. He'll likely get a chance to make the team out of training camp but is unlikely to affect even the deepest of fantasy formats next season.

Lane MacDermid returned to action on Sunday April 21.
