Turris was designated for waivers by Nashville on Wednesday in order to buy out his contract, Sportsnet's Chris Johnston reports.

Buying out Turris' contract will save the Preds $4 million annually over the next four seasons and then will cost the club $2 million a year for another four years. With the departure of Nick Bonino via trade, Nashville will have a drastically different center complement next year as Ryan Johansen and Matt Duchene will likely serve as the top-six centers.

Turris notched an assist and two shots on goal in Monday's 8-3 loss to the Oilers.

The assist snapped a six-game dry spell for Turris. The 30-year-old center has 29 points, 81 shots and 22 PIM through 58 appearances this year. It hasn't been a great year for Turris, who has been mostly limited to a bottom-six role with the Predators. He's still got some value in deeper fantasy formats.

Turris scored the game-winning goal on his first and only shot of the night in Sunday's 2-1 win over St. Louis.

Turris sniped a shot from the left faceoff circle to break a 1-1 deadlock with 2:12 left in regulation. It's been a difficult season for Turris, but the veteran forward has come alive as of late with nine points (three goals, six assists) in his last 10 games. He's found the net in two straight games and has totaled four points in those contests.

Turris notched a goal and two assists in Saturday's 4-3 win over the Blues and was voted the game's first star.

EDGE Analysis

After spending a good chunk of his time centering the Preds' fourth line earlier in the season, Turris has since been bumped up to a scoring-line role, currently playing the wing on a line with Matt Duchene and Filip Forsberg. This puts him in a much better position to contribute offensively, which he's been doing a lot more of lately, with seven points in his past eight games.

Turris netted a goal and served up a power-play assist in Thursday's 3-2 win over the Flames.

Turris put the Predators ahead with his goal at 11:43 of the first period. He then drew the secondary helper on Mikael Granlund's power-play tally in the second. Turris has a goal and five helpers over his last seven games. For the season, the 30-year-old has 24 points, eight of which have come with a man advantage.

Turris set up Craig Smith for the go-ahead goal at 13:31 of the third period. In his last seven games, Turris has a modest three points. Five of his 19 points this season have come with a man advantage. The 30-year-old has added 56 shots on goal and a minus-4 rating in 40 appearances, mostly in a bottom-six role.

Turris scored the lone goal in a 1-0 win versus Winnipeg on Sunday.

EDGE Analysis

The former third overall draft pick scored his first goal since Dec. 3, giving Turris six goals and 18 points in 37 games this season. He's seen his ice time slip this season but remains part of Nashville's second power-play unit, giving Turris some fantasy value, though, he's a risky play most nights.

Turris posted an assist, two blocked shots and two PIM in Sunday's 5-4 shootout loss to the Ducks.

The assist ended a five-game drought for Turris, who had previously posted a four-game point streak before that. The 30-year-old is up to 17 points, 52 shots on goal and a minus-4 rating through 34 contests.

Don't look now, but Turris now has five points in seven games following a seven-game stint as a healthy scratch in late November. Prior to that, he had just two points in his previous 10 games, so the benching appears to have lit a fire under him. Enjoy the resurgence while it lasts.

Turris scored a goal and added an assist with three shots in Tuesday's 3-2 overtime loss to Tampa Bay. He also won 12 of 16 faceoffs.

Turris forced overtime when he knotted the game on the power play midway through the third period. It was just the fifth goal of the season for the 30-year-old and only his second with the man advantage. It was also just his second multi-point game of the year. Turris had been a healthy scratch on more than one occasion in recent days, so Tuesday's two-point effort will help his cause to stay in the lineup.
