With six points in eight games, including three power-play points, Fiala has settled in solidly to his top-line role with the Kings. The winger has added 18 shots on net, six PIM and a minus-5 rating, showing some struggles to win the scoring battle at even strength.

Fiala collected three points Saturday as the Kings edged the Wild 7-6.

Fiala, who spent parts of the previous four seasons with the Wild, scored his first goal for the Kings and added a pair of helpers as the teams exploded for a combined 13 goals. Fiala scored at 9:11 of the second period, giving the Kings a 5-3 lead. The 26-year-old left winger was also credited with six shots on goal and a pair of first-period assists, breaking a two-game pointless skid to start the season with his new club.

Fiala signed a seven-year, $55.125 million contract with the Kings on Wednesday, Pierre LeBrun of The Athletic reports.

Fiala was acquired via trade from the Wild earlier Wednesday, and the Kings wasted no time in making sure to get a deal in place for the 25-year-old winger. He'll carry a cap hit of $7.875 million per year for a contract that will set him up to potentially cash in once more in his early 30s. Fiala can be penciled in for a top-six role alongside one of Anze Kopitar or Phillip Danault heading into 2022-23, and he should also see a fair amount of power-play time.

Fiala's NHL rights were acquired by the Kings from the Wild on Wednesday in exchange for a 2022 first-round pick and Brock Faber.

EDGE Analysis

Fiala will become a restricted free agent July 13, which gives the Kings plenty of time to get the winger signed to a new long-term deal. Considering the Switzerland native set new career bests in goals (33), assists (52) and ice time (17:39 per game), Los Angeles will certainly have to shell out more than the $5.1 million Fiala made last season. Despite his price tag, the 25-year-old winger would be a solid addition to the Kings and provide a top-six scorer that could once again push for the 30-goal threshold.

Fiala recorded two power-play assist and a minus-2 rating in Tuesday's 5-2 loss to the Blues in Game 5.

EDGE Analysis

Fiala helped out on both of Kirill Kaprizov's first-period tallies. After a quiet start to the playoffs, Fiala's earned three assists in his last two games. The winger has added 12 shots on net, 14 PIM and a minus-4 rating in five outings overall while continuing to see top-six usage. Considering he posted 24 points in the last 16 games of the regular season, it's a little disappointing to see his scoring touch fade.

Fiala scored a goal on seven shots, dished a power-play assist and added four hits in Sunday's 5-4 overtime win over the Predators.

EDGE Analysis

In addition to extending his point streak to 10 games, Fiala has racked up multiple points in each of his last five outings. Over the whole streak, he has 10 goals, 13 assists, 38 shots on net and a plus-11 rating. The winger has elevated his game excellently in April, and he's up to 33 goals, 84 points, 259 shots on net and a plus-25 rating through 79 contests overall.

Fiala picked up five assists to reach 50 on the season in Friday's 6-3 win over Seattle.

EDGE Analysis

Fiala assisted on all but one Wild goal, with three coming on the power play. Fiala's game has reached another level this season, as he now has 50 assists to go along with 32 goals. He'll continue to be a consistent scoring threat playing on Minnesota's second line and first power-play unit.

Fiala may be rested against the Kraken on Friday, Piper Shaw of Root Sports reports.

EDGE Analysis

With the playoffs looming, Fiala and fellow star forward Kirill Kaprizov may both get the night off against Seattle. Confirmation on Fiala's status versus the Kraken may not surface until the Wild take the ice for pregame warmups.
