Mouillierat signed a one-year, two-way contract with the Penguins on Wednesday. Mouillierat broke through to the NHL for the first time last season, skating in six games for the Islanders and recording a goal and assist. The 27-year-old will likely receive the opportunity to compete for a fourth-line role with the Penguins in training camp, but it wouldn't be a surprise if he spent most of his time with the team's AHL affiliate at Scranton/Wilkes-Barre.

Mouillierat was recalled by the Islanders from AHL Bridgeport on Monday. With Bridgeport's AHL campaign having concluded, the Islanders added some postseason depth by recalling Matt Carkner, Scott Mayfield, Ryan Pulock and Johan Sundstrom along with Mouillierat, who notched two points in six games with the big club this past season. In 69 AHL contests in 2014-15, Mouillierat recorded 50 points and 110 PIM.

Mouillierat will be a healthy scratch Tuesday versus the Stars, according to Newsday's Arthur Staple. Mouillierat's days as a member of the Islanders are likely numbered with the acquisition of Tyler Kennedy and the impending return to health of Casey Cizikas. He should find himself back in the AHL shortly unless the Isles were to suffer another injury.

Mouillierat collected the first NHL points of his career in Tuesday's win over the Coyotes, capturing a goal and assist. It was quite an effective night for the Isles' fourth line, as Mouillierat and mates Matt Martin and Colin McDonald combined for five points. Frequent scoring shouldn't be expected from Mouillierat, who has barely cracked 10 minutes in the outing, including no time on the power play.
