This is not a surprise as the game Sunday is the last game for the Islanders before their league mandated five-day break. The team has yet to announce the severity of the injury or when they expect him to return to the lineup but the earliest we can see Bailey is Jan. 13 against the Rangers. If Bailey were to be lost to the team for any significant amount of time it would be a significant blow as he is in the midst of a career season with 12 goals and 38 assists in 42 games.

However, when you see his name atop the NHL assist lead (37), and that he's second only to Lightning superstar Nikita Kucherov in total points, Bailey's accomplishments in 2017-18 become that much more impressive.

Barring a long-term injury, career-best marks across the board are guaranteed for the 28-year-old winger.

Even with his placement among the league's top scorers, there's still a chance Bailey is undervalued in some fantasy settings.

The trio has scored its way to fantasy stardom through 32 games, and Bailey is up to eight goals and 38 points for the campaign.

Bailey is now up to 30 assists on the year and has four in his past three games. It looks like he's on another hot streak after a slight downtick earlier this month, so ride his assist totals.
