According to Andrew Gross of Newsday, Bailey (illness) participated in Tuesday's morning skate, which suggests he should be available for the evening's matchup with the Rangers.
EDGE Analysis
Bailey exited Sunday's loss to Carolina in the first period due to an illness, but he was never in serious danger of missing Tuesday's tilt. The 30-year-old winger, who's picked up 10 goals and 27 points in 48 games this campaign, will skate on the Islanders' second line and first power-play unit against the Rangers.

Bailey (illness) left Sunday's game against the Hurricanes and will not return.
EDGE Analysis
Bailey saw just 4:42 of ice time in the contest before hitting the locker rooms early. Fortunately, because he's sick and not injured, there's a good chance he'll be ready to play in Tuesday's road game against the Rangers. An update on his availability for that game will likely be made prior to the contest.

Bailey had an assist in a 3-2 overtime loss to the Bruins on Saturday.
EDGE Analysis
The assist was the first point for Bailey in seven games. To date, Bailey has had a disappointing season with only eight goals and 16 assists in 43 games, not to mention a rating of minus-9. This is not what the Islanders had in mind when they re-signed Bailey to a six-year, $30 million contract in February 2018. Currently, Bailey is on pace to have his worst season since the 2015-16 campaign when he only had 12 goals and 20 assists in 81 games.

Bailey had an assist and two shots on goal in Friday's 5-2 loss to the Blackhawks.
EDGE Analysis
Bailey found new linemate Ross Johnston for the goal at 5:50 of the first period. The helper snapped a five-game point drought for Bailey. The 30-year-old now has 23 points, 47 shots and a minus-4 rating through 36 contests this season.

Bailey played center with Andrew Ladd and Michael Dal Colle flanking him during the Islanders 3-2 loss to the Blue Jackets on Monday.
EDGE Analysis
Coach Barry Trotz has been changing up his lines frequently of late and there is no reason to believe that this trio will stick together for any length of time. The Islanders lack depth at center and Trotz is just trying to find a combination that works. Bailey is having a disappointing season with eight goals, 14 assists, and a rating of minus-3 in 35 games. More will be expected of Bailey along with most of the forwards for the Islanders after the holiday break.

Bailey scored a short-handed goal and added a power-play assist in Monday's 5-1 win over the Lightning.
EDGE Analysis
His second-period tally on a nearly uncontested breakaway from his own blue line gave the Isles a 2-1 lead and held up as the game-winner. The marker ended a nine-game goal drought for Bailey, although he did have five assists in his prior five games, and on the year the 30-year-old has eight goals and 21 points in 29 contests.

Bailey produced an assist and a plus-2 rating in Monday's 4-1 win over the Red Wings.
EDGE Analysis
Bailey connected on a long pass to Anthony Beauvillier as the latter exited the penalty box, resulting in the Islanders' second goal. Bailey has assists in consecutive outings after a four-game dry spell. For the year, the winger has produced 16 points and 26 shots on goal through 25 contests.

Bailey was moved to the top line during practice Tuesday with Mathew Barzal and Anders Lee, Andrew Gross of Newsday reports.
EDGE Analysis
Coach Barry Trotz switched up several lines as he wasn't happy with the team's performance during their 3-0 loss to Anaheim on Monday. Bailey has bounced around the top three lines all season and his stay with Barzal and Lee may last a period, a game, a week, there really is no way to tell as Trotz does like to change up his lines when he feels things aren't going his way. On the season Bailey has seven goals and 14 points in 22 games. Bailey is on pace to eclipse the 20-goal mark for the first time in his career but is also on pace to have his least total points in four seasons. Like many Islanders, scoring has been tough to come by this year.

As expected, Bailey (rest) will be in the lineup for Saturday's game in Philadelphia, Andrew Gross of Newsday reports.
EDGE Analysis
Bailey took a partial maintenance day Thursday, but he was never in danger of missing Saturday's contest. The veteran forward, who's notched six goals and 13 points in 17 games this campaign, will slot into his usual role skating on the Islanders' third line and second power-play unit against the Flyers.

Bailey (soreness) left practice about halfway through Thursday, Andrew Gross of Newsday reports.
EDGE Analysis
Coach Barry Trotz stated that Bailey was just banged up and sore after playing the Maple Leafs on Wednesday and he should be in the lineup Saturday in Philadelphia. The return of several injured Islanders has seen Bailey moved back to the second line with Brock Nelson and Anthony Beauvillier, but Trotz mentioned Wednesday that one thing he likes about Bailey is the ability to use him on different lines and in different positions.
