Jose Theodore is projected to be back in Florida's crease on Thursday night against Buffalo. 21-year-old rookie Jacob Markstrom got his first career start in a 3-0 loss to Washington on Tuesday. He will probably get another opportunity down the line before returning to the minors, but Theodore has been solid in four appearances this season with a 3-1-0 record, a .920 save percentage and a 2.47 GAA.

Jose Theodore turned aside 35 shots in the Panthers' 7-4 whopping over the Lightning Monday night. With the win tonight, Theodore is now 3-1 on the season and is actually looking pretty good in nets for the Panthers. Unfortunately for Theodore owners, it's going to be another long season in Miami as the Panthers will start to lose games very quickly and return to the bottom of the standings shortly.

Jose Theodore looked very good in Saturday night's 3-2 shootout win over state rival Tampa. He stopped Martin St. Louis, Steven Stamkos and Vincent Lecavalier in the shootout to lead the Panthers to victory and raise his career record to 12-6-2 over the Lightning. For those who thought Theo was finished and would be success-challenged on a mediocre Florida squad, he may have a little life left in him yet.

Jose Theodore stopped 25 of 29 shots Tuesday, as the Panthers were defeated by a 4-2 score by the Penguins. Theodore was coming off a win over the Islanders in his Panthers debut last week, but Pittsburgh was too strong for him in the team's home opener in this contest. Look for him to get the call again the next time out.

Jose Theodore made 27 saves, shutting out the Islanders 2-0 in his Panthers debut. This will be the last chance Theodore has to be a teams starter, so he must perform. His MVP years are way behind him, but he is a serviceable goaltender that can keep his team in games.

Jose Theodore will play between the pipes in Florida's season opener on Saturday. That should come as no surprise, but beyond Saturday, it should be interesting to see how the Panthers' goaltending situation shakes out. Backup goaltender Scott Clemmensen is out until late October with a knee injury, and top-tier prospect Jacob Markstrom is filling in for him. The Panthers have a favorable schedule in October, with only one set of back-to-back games, but Florida might still want to give Markstrom a decent amount of playing time. We'll keep you posted.

Although Jose Theodore's understudy, Scott Clemmensen is out with a knee injury, Theodore might not play in nearly every game during his absence. Clemmensen is expected to be sidelined until late October, which might help Theodore further solidify his spot as the team's number one goaltender. However, his temporary backup will be Jacob Markstrom, who is seen as the Panthers' goaltender of the future. It's unlikely that the Panthers would have decided to go with Markstrom unless they were prepared to give him sufficient ice time to make his NHL-stint a positive one from a development standpoint. Theodore should still play in the majority of the games, but don't be surprised if Markstrom ends up playing in roughly every third contest.

Jose Theodore is looking for a fresh start in The Sunshine state. The former Minnesota Wild netminder left the The North Star State this summer to bring his talents to South Beach. The 2002 Hart and Vezina trophies winner indicated from the get go his preference to play in Florida, where his parents vacation in nearby Boca Raton. Florida is an ideal choice for Theodore at this stage in his career and fully expects to play well under the sun. Theo had a surprisingly solid season last year backing up Niklas Backstrom, finishing the regular campaign with a winning record (15-11-3). Theodore also posted a 2.71 goals-against average and a .916 save percentage in 32 games. It's going to be another long season in Miami and Theodore should be avoided if possible in fantasy drafts, especially in leagues that use losses as a scoring category.

Jose Theodore's goal is to serve as the Panthers number one goaltender, but he knows that he'll have to earn the spot. Theodore will enter training camp as the Panthers' starter, but netminder Scott Clemmensen might be able to wrestle the job away from him as the season progresses. "If you want to play, you have to be the best guy," Theodore said. "If Scott Clemmensen outplays me, I expect him to play. If I play better, I expect to play." Theodore had a 2.71 GAA and .916 save percentage in 32 games with the Minnesota Wild last season.

Look for Scott Clemmensen to compete with Jose Theodore for the starting goaltending position in Florida. Although it seems likely that Theo will be the Panthers' number one goalie, Clemmensen does stand to play a considerable amount this upcoming season and could unseat him should he experience lengthy slumps as he has in the past. Watch this situation in training camp and during the early parts of the season.
