Lehtera, who was dropped to the third line during Thursday's win over Tampa Bay, practiced as an extra skater Friday, Tom TImmerman of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports.
EDGE Analysis
Lehtera shuffled in on the fourth line, a unit that has played well this season, so it's more likely he was there as an extra and not a new face on that line. He just hasn't provided enough offense this season and coach Ken Hitchcock said a few times after Friday's practice that the team needs more out of him. The 28-year-old center has three goals (one empty-netter) and four assists while making the score sheet in just five of 20 games. Playing much of the season with Vladimir Tarasenko by his side, Lehtera has managed to assist on just one of Tarasenko's 13 goals. It's not definite he'll be scratched Saturday as Hitchcock said he wanted to sleep on the decision.

Lehtera was moved down to the third line for Thursday's game against the Lightning, Tom Timmerman of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports.
EDGE Analysis
In order to accommodate the return of Alexander Steen (upper body) to the lineup, coach Ken Hitchcock moved Lehtera to third-line center while Steen centered the second line between Robby Fabbri and Vladimir Tarasenko. With Tarasenko recording the third hat-trick of his career, the move paid off nicely for the coach. Lehtera, now skating with Patrick Berglund (seven points, 24 games) and Dmitri Jaskin (five, 22), his scoring opportunities will be fewer. St. Louis' third line has been a black hole of offense this season.

Lehtera collected two assists -- one on the overtime-winning goal -- during Monday's win against the Stars.
EDGE Analysis
It was just the second multi-point game of the season for Lehtera, and the 28-year-old center has just three goals and seven points through 19 games. Lehtera is also a low-volume shooter (1.37 shots per game) and doesn't move the needle in the peripheral categories. He's best left to deep seasonal leagues or used as an occasional low-priced flier in daily contests.

Lehtera scored two goals -- one an empty-netter -- in Tuesday's 4-2 win over the Bruins.
EDGE Analysis
Considering he'd managed just a single goal over 15 games coming in, Lehtera's fantasy owners will happily take the empty-net tally. The Finn's point total declined from 44 as a rookie to just 34 last year, and with just five in 16 games to open this season, he's trending noticeably in the wrong direction. Perhaps this game will turn things around for him, but don't bet the farm on it.

Lehtera scored his first goal of the season Sunday, helping the Blues to a 5-1 win over the Avalanche.
EDGE Analysis
Lehtera drove in a one-timer from defenseman Carl Gunnarsson at close range. The 28-year-old pivot hasn't made much noise this season, having accumulated only two points and 16 shots in nine games. Of course, he had dealt with a concussion that cost him four games in late October.

Lehtera picked up his first point of the season, assisting on the Blues' lone goal in Saturday night's 1-0 win over the Kings.
EDGE Analysis
It took five games, but Lehtera finally got on the board, picking up the primary assist on Jaden Schwartz's first goal of the season. The third-year forward is getting himself back into game shape after missing four games due to a concussion. As a part of a line that includes Schwartz and Vladimir Tarasenko, two of team's top three players in points per game over the past two seasons, Lehtera is in position for a breakout year.

Lehtera returned to the lineup Thursday after a four-game absence, getting off two shots on goal and doling out one hit in 18:02 of ice time in the Blues' 2-1 shootout loss to the Red Wings.
EDGE Analysis
That's considerable ice time for Lehtera, whose absence was labelled an upper-body injury, but in fact was due to a concussion. He came back to the "STL" line, skating with Jaden Schwartz and Vladimir Tarasenko, but not as the pivot. Schwartz has moved to center, so Lehtera skated on the left wing.

Lehtera (upper body) was officially activated from injured reserve Thursday,
EDGE Analysis
Lehtera missed four games due to his upper-body ailment, but he should be all systems go for Thursday night's home clash with the Red Wings. Fantasy owners probably wish the Finn was more consistent from one game to the next, but he does have the ability to set up scores. In his first two seasons, Lehtera collected 55 helpers.

Lehtera will need to go through concussion protocol before he is cleared to play in Thursday's game against the Red Wings, Lou Korac of NHL.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Lehtera has been dealing with concussion-like symptoms for the past several weeks but resumed skating on Monday and returned to team practice Wednesday. If the 28-year-old checks out Thursday morning, he'll likely reassume a top-six role Thursday night against Detroit.

Lehtera (upper body) skated Tuesday and barring any setbacks, will resume practicing Wednesday, Lou Korac of NHL.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Having yet to resume practicing, Lehtera has effectively been ruled out against Calgary on Tuesday. It will be the fourth missed game for the center who is still looking for his first point of the 2016-17 campaign. Despite his early season struggles, the 28-year-old is capable of recording a third consecutive 30-plus point year.
