Toews (concussion) will not travel with the Blackhawks on their three-game road trip, Charlie Roumeliotis of NBC Sports Chicago reports Tuesday.

He has averaged 17:16 of ice time -- 2:30 during the power play -- and distributed five assists over his last 10 appearances. The 33-year-old will set his sights on returning for the game against Columbus on Feb. 17.

It took 26 games, but the monkey is officially off his back. This was Toews' first goal of the season and first since a playoff snipe Aug. 18, 2020. Captain Canada has struggled to find his form after missing all of last season and has just 10 points this season. Toews is likely lingering on the wire in your league and he needs to stay there. This was just his second point in his last 12 games. He'll rebound, but a full year off is a long hill to climb.
