Liles scored a goal - his third in the past six games - Friday against the Canucks.
EDGE Analysis
After a dreadful start to the season (one assist in his first 20 games), Liles has picked up the pace significantly, with 10 points in his past 26. His days of being a decent mid-tier fantasy defenseman are long gone, however he's still worth a spot on your roster if you're in a deeper format.

Liles notched his first goal of the season Saturday in a 2-1 win over the Penguins.
EDGE Analysis
Liles' offensive days are behind him, but it's important to note that this goal came on the power play. And that's where almost all of his points have come this season. Still, Liles' value is sorely limited.

Liles assisted on the game-winning goal in Saturday's victory over the Canadiens.
EDGE Analysis
It was just his fourth point of the season, but three of those four points have come in the past six games. Liles is forming a nice tandem on the Canes' second defensive pairing with rookie Brett Pesce, however his fantasy value is still limited to ultra-deep formats only.

Liles posted a rare assist in Monday's 3-2 OT loss to the Flyers. It was just his second point in 21 games so far this season.
EDGE Analysis
After recording a respectable 20 points last year, Liles will be lucky to hit double digits this season given his current pace. He's still averaging over 20 minutes per game on the Canes' top defensive pairing, but Liles has not seen any power-play time for three straight games. His fantasy value barely moves the needle right now. Avoid.

Liles was held off the scoresheet for the 12th time in 13 games Friday against the Stars.
EDGE Analysis
With just a single assist so far this season, Liles is currently on track to post the worst offensive totals of his career. The puzzling thing is, Liles continues to see a decent amount of ice time, averaging almost 21 minutes a game, with a decent amount of that coming on the power play (2:33), but he just can't seem to make anything click offensively. That said, Liles' teammates can't seem to find the net either, as the Canes are currently tied for third-last in the NHL in goals per game at a meagre 2.08. As such, we don't expect Liles' numbers to turn around anytime soon. Avoid.

Liles set up two of the Hurricanes' three goals in Monday's narrow loss to the Sabres.
With 19 assists in 54 games, Liles has been a sneaky asset in that category in deep leagues, but his overall profile still isn't especially attractive. He's not a goal scorer (only two on the season) and isn't overly physical on the defensive end, either, as evidenced by his 68 hits and 14 PIM. Moreover, he'll turn 35 in November, meaning that his production will more than likely decline from here forth.

Liles tallied an assist and put up six shot attempts in Monday's loss to the Blackhawks.
Liles has assists in his last three games, while missing one contest in between due to a lower-body injury. At 34 years old, Liles is well removed from his years of steady 40-point production with the Avalanche in the mid-to-late 2000s, but he still represents one of the better puck movers on a Hurricanes blue line that lacks high-end talent.

Liles suffered a lower-body injury in Tuesday's loss to the Senators and has been ruled out for Thursday's game against the Canadiens, Chip Alexander of the Raleigh News & Observer reports.
The Hurricanes will call up Danny Biega from AHL Charlotte to take Liles' lineup spot for at least Thursday's game. The 34-year-old Liles has two goals, 14 assists, and a minus-6 rating over 45 games this season.
