Grahame was a goaltending coach with Sioux City of the USHL this season.

John Grahame has passed his physical and will probably be the Islanders' backup goaltender on Saturday. The Islanders signed Grahame after Evgeni Nabokov suffered a lower body injury. Grahame hasn't played in an NHL game since March 14, 2008.

John Grahame has inked a pro-rated, one-year deal with the New York Islanders. He is slated to play as Al Montoya's backup while Evgeni Nabokov heals up from a lower-body injury. Grahame's last appearance in the NHL came in 2007-08 with Carolina and he suited up in 34 games with Colorado's AHL affiliate in Lake Erie during the 2010-11 campaign.
