Albert inked a one-year deal with the Wolfsburg Grizzlys (DEL) on Tuesday.
EDGE Analysis
A product of Ohio State University, Albert was selected by the Atlanta Thrashers in the sixth round of the 2007 NHL Draft. The center logged nine games with the organization -- which had completed its move to Winnipeg -- in which he tallied what will likely be his lone NHL goal. After splitting time with AHL Hershey and Hartford last season, the 29-year-old will link up with the Grizzlys for his second stint abroad, having previously spent the 2016-17 campaign with Karpat.

Albert was traded along with Hubert Labrie to the Rangers in exchange for Adam Chapie and Joe Whitney on Friday.
EDGE Analysis
Albert will provide some organizational depth for the time being, but he has a history of some interesting seasons in his past with a couple of other organizations. The 29-year-old forward owns 11 points (three goals, eight assists) over 33 games this season in the AHL, but it's a little late in his career for him to be considered a huge breakout candidate moving forward.

Albert signed a one-year, two-way contract with Washington on Monday.
EDGE Analysis
After failing to secure a call-up in either the 2014-15 or 2015-16 seasons while with the Jets, Albert spent last season playing overseas with Karpat of the Finnish league. The former sixth-round pick tallied 12 goals and 12 helpers in 42 outings -- good enough to earn a deal from the Caps. Expect the 28-year-old to at least start the year in the minors with AHL Hershey

Albert was reassigned to AHL St. John's on Wednesday, Ken Wiebe of the Winnipeg Sun reports. Albert was auditioning for a bottom-six role with the Jets, after logging nine games with the club in 2013-14. He'll assume a primary scoring role while he remains with the AHL club, but the 25-year-old won't have the opportunity to deliver much point production on the occasions he gets the call back to the Jets.

John Albert will not play Saturday against the Senators. He was called up on an emergency basis on Thursday but will not be needed against Ottawa Saturday afternoon. Albert has limited fantasy value even when he does play. Defenseman Paul Postma will also be a healthy scratch.

John Albert was returned to the minors on Wednesday. He appeared in eight games the Jets, where he recorded his first NHL goal and had a minus-3 rating. Albert's demotion could mean that Zach Bogosian will be available for Friday's game against Florida.

John Albert made his NHL debut Monday night against the Rangers. He scored his first NHL goal on his first big-league shot. Albert cashed in on a partial breakaway at the halfway mark of the contest. "I thought he was fine," said coach Claude Noel. "He had a couple little bumps where he was in our zone and they got caught a little bit, but I didn't think too much of it. He looked like he knew where he was going. I thought positionally he was strong. He would have liked to have won some battles earlier but after that, he got himself in the game real well." He logged 8:29 of ice time in the match, while skating on the fourth line.
