Eriksson fell from third to fourth on the Canucks' organizational goalie depth chart this season following last summer's signing of Ryan Miller. Though he likely would have moved up a peg if the Canucks opted not to retain Jacob Markstrom, there was no guarantee Eriksson would be tendered a contract himself. The 25-year-old Swede, who has appeared in one career NHL game, owned a 22-10-7 record, 2.53 GAA, and .908 save percentage with AHL Utica last season.

Expect Markstrom to rejoin the Canucks at some point next week, with Eriksson heading back to Utica in a corresponding move.
