Peterka was recalled by the Sabres on Tuesday.
EDGE Analysis
The Sabres still have multiple forwards in the NHL's COVID-19 protocols, so Peterka will likely make his NHL debut Wednesday against New Jersey. The 2020 second-round pick has racked up 20 points through 23 AHL appearances this season.

Peterka was shipped down to the minors Monday.
EDGE Analysis
Peterka put together a strong training camp but wasn't able to supplant Arttu Ruotsalainen or John Hayden for a spot in the lineup. Still, the 19-year-old Peterka should be atop the list of potential call-ups throughout the year and figures to make his NHL debut at some point during the 2021-22 campaign.

Peterka is over his lower-body injury and will play in Saturday's preseason contest against visiting Detroit, Bill Hoppe of the Olean Times Herald reports.
EDGE Analysis
Peterka has yet to make his NHL debut, so it's largely expected he'll be assigned to AHL Rochester following the game to give the 19-year-old German a chance to adjust to the North American game.

Peterka is considered day-to-day with a lower-body bruise, Paul Hamilton of WGR Sports Radio 550 reports.
EDGE Analysis
At this point it isn't clear if Peterka will be available for Saturday's preseason finale against the Red Wings. Either way, once healthy, the 2020 second-round pick will almost certainly be assigned to AHL Rochester.

Peterka agreed to terms on a three-year, entry-level contract with Buffalo on Friday.
EDGE Analysis
Peterka is expected to join the Sabres for training camp this fall, per Lance Lysowski of The Buffalo News, which will at least give him the opportunity to make the Opening Night roster, though he should probably be considered an outside chance. Playing in the DEL this year, Peterka racked up nine goals and 11 helpers in 30 games for EHC Munchen.

Peterka was drafted 34th overall by the Sabres at the 2020 NHL Entry Draft on Wednesday.
EDGE Analysis
Buffalo shipped a 2020 fourth-rounder (100th overall) to San Jose in order for the right to slide up four slots and select Peterka. Peterka is a good-looking player who appears to be best suited for a depth role in the NHL. He spent the entirety of this past season in Germany's top league but barely played on some nights. He did put up a strong showing (six points in seven games) at the World Juniors. Peterka plays with pace and is willing to do the dirty work in the corners and along the boards in order to set up his teammates. It would be a stretch to project Peterka as a top-six forward at the NHL level, but he does enough things well to envision him developing into a useful piece who can move up and down a lineup as circumstances dictate, all while chipping in offensively.
