Jerome Samson has agreed to a one-year, two-way deal with the Tampa Bay Lightning. Samson had 27 goals and 56 points in 68 NHL games in 2013-14. He might enjoy a stint or two with the Lightning over the course of the season, but he isn't expected to secure a regular spot with the team.

Jerome Samson has been placed on waivers. If he clears then he'll be sent to AHL St. John's. He produced seven goals and 18 points in 37 games with AHL's Charlotte Checkers last year.

Jerome Samson is another player on the bubble to possibly make Winnipeg's roster. He could just as easily open the season in the AHL though. "Not knowing where you're going to end up is stressful," Samson said. "But you have to take a day-by-day mentality and give all you have when given a chance." Keep a close eye on Samson because if he does well, he might stay end up staying on the top line. Especially if the Hurricanes end up trading away a veteran forward or two before the Feb. 27 deadline.
