Morin agreed to terms on a one-year contract with KHL club Yugra Khanty-Mansiysk on Thursday.
EDGE Analysis
Morin hasn't appeared in an NHL contest since 2014-15 when he was with the Blue Jackets. The past two seasons, the winger has shifted around the AHL -- suiting up for five different minor-league organizations. He registered 30 points in 63 outings last year -- not quite good enough to earn another NHL contract. Instead, the New York native will head to Russia to extend his playing career.

Morin signed a one-year, two-way contract with the Lightning on Friday.
EDGE Analysis
Morin has played 82 career NHL games with the Hawks and Jackets, scoring 10 goals and 22 points. He has 200 points in 267 career AHL games, including 42 in 59 last season with three squads -- the Rockford IceHogs, Toronto Marlies and San Jose Barracuda. Morin is a former second-round pick that just hasn't found a niche in the NHL, so expect this signing to be for AHL depth only.

Morin was dealt to the Sharks on Saturday along with goalie James Reimer. In exchange, the Maple Leafs will receive forward Ben Smith, goalie Alex Stalock and a conditional fourth-round draft choice in 2018.
EDGE Analysis
Morin, a former second-round pick, has failed to earn a full-time role in the NHL since entering the league with the Blackhawks in 2010-11. The Sharks have a strong core within the top six, but the bottom lines are rather fluid and include fellow newcomer Nick Spaling, who also was recently acquired from the Leafs. Morin's ability to play either the left or right wing bodes well for his chances of becoming a regular for Team Teal.

Morin was reassigned to the Toronto Marlies of the AHL on Sunday, James Mirtle of The Globe and Mail reports.
EDGE Analysis
Morin was recalled Saturday, but didn't dress for the Leafs' 5-2 win in Vancouver. The former second-round pick is an established AHL scorer, but has just 10 goals and 22 points in 82 NHL contests.

Morin was called up from the minors on an emergency basis Saturday.
EDGE Analysis
The Maple Leafs have a contest Saturday night and winger Josh Leivo (upper body) just landed on injured reserve, hence the emergency call-up for Morin, a 24-year-old native of New York. Prior to his ascension to the parent club, Morin produced two goals and six points in 11 games with the minor-league affiliate Marlies.

Morin was traded Monday to the Maple Leafs in exchange for Richard Panik, Chris Kuc of the Chicago Tribune reports.
EDGE Analysis
Morin was originally acquired by the Blackhawks via trade in the offseason, but failed to suit up for them this year. The 24-year-old will face a difficult test cracking the lineup in Toronto.

Morin was traded from the Blue Jackets to the Blackhawks along with three players for Brandon Saad, WGN Radio in Chicago reports. Morin, 24, collected six points (two goals, four assists) in 43 games between Columbus and Chicago last season. He was acquired by the Blue Jackets from the Hawks via a trade on Dec. 14 in exchange for defenseman Tim Erixon. Morin has 22 points (10 goals and 12 assists) in 82 career NHL games.

Morin picked up an assist in Monday's 4-3 overtime loss to the Rangers. Morin has no goals and two assists in eight games since returning from a cardiac issue. He's fallen below the 10-minute mark in TOI on four of those occasions, and with little power-play time to boot, there's not much benefit in rostering him.

Morin (accelerated heart rate) was activated from injured reserve Friday, Aaron Portzline of the Columbus Dispatch reports. Morin will dress for Saturday's game against the Flames, marking his first action since Jan. 27. The winger was initially forced to rest for a few weeks after suffering the cardiac emergency that required temporary hospitalization, but he's been skating for nearly a month now without complications. He'll likely fill a bottom-six role for the Blue Jackets in his return Saturday.

Morin (chest) will travel with the Blue Jackets for their three-game Canada road trip, which commences next Wednesday, Shawn Mitchell of the Columbus Dispatch reports. Ruled out indefinitely in late January after he was hospitalized due to an elevated heart rate, Morin has made notable progress over the last couple of weeks. He resumed skating near the end of February and is gradually easing his way back to full conditioning. While coach Todd Richards noted that Morin isn't expected to play until at least the final game of the road trip on Mar. 21, it nonetheless appears a return is near for the forward.
