Petry logged one shot on net, two hits, three blocked shots and two PIM in Saturday's 2-1 loss to Columbus.
EDGE Analysis
Petry's dispirited season continued Saturday. An ill-timed tripping penalty late in the third period led to Patrik Laine's game-winning goal with eight seconds left and extended Montreal's losing streak to nine games. The defenseman, who has six points and is minus-13 over 40 games, has been unhappy, partially because his family in Michigan is unable to cross the Canadian border. He also voiced his displeasure to Stu Cowan of the Montreal Gazette about the system deployed by former coach Dominique Ducharme. New GM Kent Hughes is attempting to trade Petry, but the blueliner's hefty contract is an impediment.

Petry produced a shorthanded assist in Sunday's 6-3 loss to the Blue Jackets.
EDGE Analysis
Petry helped out on an Artturi Lehkonen goal in the third period. This was Petry's fourth point through 10 appearances in January. The 34-year-old hasn't been anywhere near his scoring pace from last season, but he's made some progress this month. For the season, he's at six points, 54 shots on net, 81 hits, 42 blocked shots and a minus-7 rating in 37 contests.

Petry had an assist, two shots on net, two hits and two blocked shots in Monday's 8-2 loss to the Wild.
EDGE Analysis
Petry sent a puck harmlessly into the Minnesota end that went to Laurent Dauphin, who set up Mike Hoffman for the game's first goal. It was the third point in six games for Petry, who has picked up his scoring pace since returning from a three-game absence. The usually productive defenseman had just two points in the season's first 28 games.

Petry (undisclosed) will play in Saturday's game versus the Avalanche.
EDGE Analysis
Petry was a game-time decision heading into Saturday's contest, but he's good to go in his usual second-pairing role.

Petry (undisclosed) will be a game-time decision Saturday against Colorado.
EDGE Analysis
It's unclear what Petry is dealing with but there's a chance the veteran blueliner won't be available. The 34-year-old has four points through 32 games this season. If he's not in Saturday's lineup, Bretty Kulak or Sami Niku could slide into the lineup.

Petry scored a goal on three shots, logged four hits, blocked two shots and added two PIM in Thursday's 3-2 overtime loss to the Blackhawks.
EDGE Analysis
Petry's first goal of the year came in his 29th contest after he lit the lamp 12 times in 55 outings last season. He ended a 17-game point drought with the tally, but he's at just three points this season. Barring a ridiculous surge, he'll miss the 40-point threshold for the first time since 2016-17. The defenseman has added 41 shots on net, 58 hits, 35 blocked shots and a minus-7 rating in 2021-22.

Petry had one hit and two penalty minutes over 20:12 of ice time in Wednesday's 5-1 loss to Boston.
EDGE Analysis
Petry played for the first time since Dec. 16 after clearing the NHL's COVID-19 protocols earlier this month. The ice time was less than his season average of 23:04, but the top-pairing defenseman was back on the power play and should get his conditioning up to snuff during Montreal's seven-game road trip. Petry has just two assists -- the last one coming Nov. 2 -- in what has been a bewildering season for him and the Canadiens.

Petry (COVID-19 protocols) took part in Tuesday's practice session after clearing the league's protocols, John Lu of TSN.ca reports.
EDGE Analysis
The fact that Petry skated with the No. 2 power-play unit should be a strong indication he'll be back in action versus Boston on Wednesday. If he does play, the veteran bleuliner will be making his first appearances for the club since Dec. 16 versus the Flyers.

Petry entered the COVID-19 protocols Monday.
EDGE Analysis
Petry has appeared in just two NHL contests since recovering from an upper-body injury. The 34-year-old will look to snap his 16-game pointless streak upon return from protocols.

Petry (upper body) is no longer on injured reserve, per the NHL's media site.
EDGE Analysis
Petry is considered a game-time decision for Tuesday's tilt with Pittsburgh and this move indicates that he'll most likely be good to go. The 34-year-old has missed the last four games. He has just two assists while averaging 23:21 of ice time through 25 games this season.
