Jay Harrison and Chad LaRose each had four shots on goal in the Hurricanes 1-0 loss to Buffalo Friday.
Harrison led all Carolina defensemen in TOI with 23:09 and trailed only Eric Staal by 11 seconds among all Hurricanes. Harrison has a goal and seven points in 20 games this season to go with 23 penalty minutes so he has limited fantasy value at best, but he is getting some time on the second power play and that will come in handy once the Hurricanes break out of their slump in which they have gone 2-8-0 in their last 10 games, the worst in the NHL. Coach Paul Maurice is hanging by a thread in Raleigh.

He will make $650,000 in 2011-12 and $750,000 the following season. Harrison appeared in a career-high 72 games this past season, while contributing three goals, seven assists and 72 penalty minutes. His rugged style of play was appreciated by GM Jim Rutherford, which led to his extension.
