Bouwmeester set up Vladimir Tarasenko for a one-timer that beat Cam Talbot in Thursday's win over Edmonton.
EDGE Analysis
Bouwmeester was stout defensively all night and finished with a team-high plus-3 rating. He skated 24:28 and logged 5:25 on the kill. Bouwmeester saw increased time on the power play, and as long as Kevin Shattenkirk remains sidelined, he'll see a nice fantasy boost.

Bouwmeester had an assist in Thursday's Opening Night win against the Oilers.
EDGE Analysis
The veteran blue liner got the secondary helper on Vladimir Tarasenko's breakaway goal to tie the game in the second period. He skated 21:08 with one shot and a plus-1 rating. Bouwmeester will get a lot of assist opportunities as long as the Blues keep scoring, but doesn't offer much offensive upside.

Bouwmeester said Thursday that he feels healthy heading into training camp and is no longer affected by the groin injury that limited him last season, NHL.com's Lou Korac reports.
EDGE Analysis
One of the league's premier iron men, Bouwmeester saw his streak of 737 consecutive regular-season games played come to an end in November due to the groin issue. He would ultimately sit out 10 games on the campaign, finishing with a career-low two goals and 13 points, while seeing his plus/minus rating fall from plus-26 the season before all the way to plus-7. At 31 years old, Bouwmeester still probably has a few years left in him, but it's quite possible his days as an annual 40-point scorer are long gone. He saw his average ice time fall to 22:30 last season, and although he'll be locked into a top-four role on defense to open 2015-16, it may not be long until promising young blueliner Petteri Lindbohm eats into Bouwmeester's minutes.

Bouwmeester collected two assists and blocked four shots in 23:49 of ice time in Friday's win over Dallas. While he's been logging heavy minutes for the Blues, the 31-year-old has managed just three assists in his last 16 games. Stuck at 13 points on the season, the veteran is proving far more valuable to the Blues than he is to fantasy owners.

Bouwmeester picked up an assist Saturday in a 6-3 loss to the Wild. He was minus-1 with one shot and one block in the contest. Bouwmeester has seen his offensive production fall from 37 points last year to 11 points this year. His shots on net has also dropped from 1.85 shots per game to 1.25. At age 31 it appears he is heading into the decline phase of his career. Bouwmeester is droppable in all but deep leagues.

Bouwmeester (illness) took part in Wednesday's optional skate, Jeremy Rutherford of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports. It was believed that Bouwmeester would return to action Tuesday against the Jets after the worst of his flu symptoms seemed to have subsided, but coach Ken Hitchcock decided to keep the blueliner out for a second straight game. If Bouwmeester has another positive skate Thursday morning, he should receive clearance to play later that evening against the Flyers.

Bouwmeester will be a healthy scratch for Tuesday's game against the Jets, NHL.com's Lou Korac reports. Coach Ken Hitchcock indicated after Tuesday's morning skate that Bouwmeester was "available" to play after missing the team's previous game with an illness, but never specified that the blueliner would in fact be in the lineup. It appears that the Blues decided it was best to let Bouwmeester rest up another game, allowing Chris Butler to remain in the lineup in his stead. It's been a miserable season for Bouwmeester, who has followed up a 37-point, plus-26 2013-14 campaign with marks of 10 points and plus-7 over 56 games.

Coach Ken Hitchcock confirmed Bouwmeester (illness) will be available for Tuesday's game against the Jets, NHL.com's Lou Korac reports. Bouwmeester skated during Tuesday's morning skate, and while Hitchcock wouldn't confirmed whether or not the blueliner would be in the lineup, that would seem to be a likely scenario. He figures to reclaim a spot on the Blues' second defensive pairing.

Bouwmeester (illness) should be available for Tuesday's game against the Jets, Lou Korac of NHL.com reports. Bouwmeester missed Saturday's contest against the Maple Leafs due to the illness, but it appears the worst of it is behind him, and he should be good to go Tuesday barring something unforeseen.
