Former Edmonton Oilers defenseman Jason Strudwick is heading over to Sweden to play for Sodertalje in First Division, just below the Elite League. He played in Lugano in the Swiss League in 2006-07 and in Hungary during the lockout. He's staying in shape in case an NHL club wants him later in the season when he has to clear waivers to return to the NHL. Strudwick played in 43 games for Edmonton last season.

Jason Strudwick is still waiting for an offer from another NHL team after becoming a free agent this summer. "I'd still like to play, but if I don't, well, I can live with that" he said. "I don't know if I'd want to go a camp for two or three weeks (on a tryout) and then, say, get cut." Strudwick skated in 43 games with Edmonton last season where he posted two assists, a minus-16 rating and 23 penalty minutes.
