Chimera tallied his second straight two-point effort when he opening the scoring and then added a power-play assist in Saturday's 4-2 victory over Toronto.
EDGE Analysis
Opportunity is knocking for the 36-year-old who is showing he can still keep up with the young guys. Chimera has seven points, including five assists and four PPPs, in his last five games. There's value, albeit short term, in his stick.

Chimera was electric Friday against the Lightning, notching a goal and an assist with the man advantage in the 4-2 win.
EDGE Analysis
Chimera often goes through long stretches without points, but when he does tally it usually comes in bunches as he has four multi-point efforts in the six games for which he's put a dent in the scoresheet.

Chimera picked up three assists in Saturday's win over the Avalanche.
EDGE Analysis
He has two, three-point games in his last five, but those were his only points in his last 13 games. And he's minus-5 in that span. Nice game, Jason, but you're just not consistent enough to activate.

Chimera exploded for two power-play goals and an even-strength assist Thursday in a 5-2 win over the Flyers.
EDGE Analysis
After eight consecutive games off the scoresheet, Chimera woke up with easily his best game of the year. Still, he skated only a modest 13:38 in this one and continues to play a third-line role for the Caps. The power-play time was a new wrinkle, though -- he'd barely seen any outside of the first two games of the year. Still, unless he can carry this power-play momentum forward against stronger competition, Chimera remains a fairly low-end fantasy asset outside deeper leagues that count hits.

Chimera had a goal and five shots in Tuesday's 6-2 win over Calgary.
EDGE Analysis
Although he may not be able to maintain his near 50-point pace for the season, the elder statesman of the Capitals is off to a good start with two goals and an assist in his first five games. Playing on a fairly effective checking line trio has been fruitful for Chimera so far, however the lack of quality minutes keeps Chimera from being fantasy relevant outside of deeper leagues unless he can jump into the top-six.

Chimera (lower body) is in Thursday's lineup against the Blackhawks, Mike Vogel of the Capitals' official website reports.
EDGE Analysis
Chimera was expected to play Thursday, and that's indeed the case. He'll slot in his normal spot on the third line alongside Jay Beagle and Tom Wilson.

Chimera (lower body) is day-to-day and expected to play Thursday night against the Blackhawks.
EDGE Analysis
Chimera has been one of the best players on the slumping Capitals this season, scoring a goal and added an assist in the first two games of the season. He should be good to go Thursday and the 36-year-old should remain an integral part of the Caps offense.

Chimera recorded an assist during Washington's 4-3 shootout win over Montreal on Thursday.
EDGE Analysis
Filling in for the injured Marcus Johansson (back) on the second line, Chimera assisted on Andre Burakovsky's first period goal. Unless Johansson's injury proves more severe, the 36-year-old forward is likely to settle into a checking-line role for the balance of the season, and is unlikely to match his career-high 42 point season from 2013-2014. While the Capitals love his speed and physical presence, his fantasy upside his limited to deeper leagues unless he can carve out a more meaningful role.

Chimera scored a goal, added an assist and went plus-3 on Sunday in a 4-3 Game 6 loss to the Rangers. Chimera's been a surprising performer in these playoffs, having picked up three goals and seven points in 13 games; he only collected 19 points in 77 regular-season contests, so this is quite an outburst by his standards. The Caps have been mixing and matching lines, and Chimera's grouping with Joel Ward and Evgeny Kuznetsov looked awfully strong Sunday.

Chimera picked up a goal, an assist and a plus-3 rating Thursday in a Game 5 victory over the Islanders. He'd collected just a single point -- a Game 2 goal -- in the first four games of the series, but Chimera busted out with a big effort in this one. Of course, his scoring is rather sparing, so don't look for many more outbursts like this from Chimera.
