His second-period fight and misconduct penalty limited him to only 12:06 of ice time. Perhaps that was just as well, though, as the Avs never stood a chance in this game, coming as it did on the heels of a hard-fought victory in Pittsburgh the night before. Iggy's already almost halfway to last year's PIM total, but most fantasy owners are probably more interested in the 39-year-old's point production (one goal in three games so far). That's declined in consecutive seasons now, and at his advanced age, it's hard to expect Iginla to bounce back and post star-type numbers. He's not Jaromir Jagr, after all.

Iginla is projected to open the new season in the top six for Colorado once again, and he's notched assists in his first two preseason contests.

The 39-year-old winger is coming off a down year, as his 47 points in 82 games fall well short of the standard he's set throughout his career. Iginla's clearly feeling his age -- he doesn't deliver hits or shots as frequently as he used to -- but he should still be good for another 20-goal campaign.

Iginla's goal against the Ducks on Saturday was his 611th of this career, moving ahead of Bobby Hull's 610 goals.

EDGE Analysis

Iggy's now just 14 goals behind all-time Avs' great Joe Sakic for 15th all-time in league history. He leads his draft class (1995) in every scoring category, holding a 215-goal lead and 328-point lead over the second-place scorer (Shane Doan in both categories).

However, owners will find it tough to swallow his career-worst minus-22 rating, one that's too forgone to improve with just two games remaining.

That puts the 38-year-old veteran at a respectable 41 points on the season, but unfortunately, he sports a minus-19 rating -- the worst of his career. There's still time to improve upon it, but Colorado's play as a team won't help his cause.

That's now 12th power-play goals in 65 games for the 38-year-old veteran. While Iginla isn't lighting it up like he used to in his prime, he's still recorded 19 goals and 19 assists this season. He's been especially good of late, as he's racked up 13 points in his last 12 games. Keep him in your lineup as long as he keeps producing like this.

Iginla now has 11 power-play goals on the year, proving to still be an asset for the Avalanche at 38 years old. The former first-round pick has recorded points in five straight games, including 12 tallies in his last 11 outings. It's been a strong month for Iginla, and as long as the winger has the clock turned back, he could be a serviceable fantasy option.

Iginla really buried the Habs in this one, tying the game 2-2 with a late goal in the second before potting the game-winner with 2:03 remaining in the third. After a nine-game goal drought, Iggy now has four in the last four games -- along with 18 shots on goal -- so he's certainly showing he's got gas left in the tank at age 38. To date, he has an even 17 goals and 17 assists in 60 games this year, a 46-point pace. The former Flame comes with some baggage in the form of a minus-16 rating, though, depreciating his fantasy value in applicable leagues.

Iginla had a monster night with two power-play goals, an assist, a plus-1 rating and two PIM in Thursday's 4-3 win over the Senators.

EDGE Analysis

Iginla's now scored points in his last four games, with two goals and four assists in that span. While this is far from the numbers he put up in his heyday, the 38-year-old winger is still showing that he can produce. His +/- of minus-17 is perhaps the biggest blemish on what has been an otherwise serviceable season given his position on the team.

Iginla sank the game-winning goal Monday night against the Jets.

Iginla has 25 points (13 goals, 12 assists) in 47 games this season. However, his minus-15 rating really puts a damper on his fantasy value if your league counts that stat.
