Jarkko Ruutu is reportedly in talks with Metallurg Novokuznetsk about joining the KHL this season. He was not retained by the Anaheim Ducks following the 2010-11 campaign and is seeking a new team. Ruutu recorded 12 points and 97 penalty minutes in 73 games last season with Ottawa and Anaheim. He is one of the top agitators in the league, so he could still draw back into the NHL for 2011-12.

Jarkko Ruutu will be looking for a new team next season as the Anaheim Ducks have decided not to re-sign him. The Ducks acquired Ruutu in a trade with the Ottawa Senators at the trade deadline and he helped Anaheim get into the playoffs. He earned $1.3 million last season and will look for a similar deal from another NHL club when free agency begins on Friday.
