Jamie Langenbrunner missed his second straight game with the flu.
It was thought Langenbrunner would be a go as he was projected to play but the Blues gave him another day off. The 36-year-old has only two goals and 12 points this season and should not be active even in the deepest of leagues.

Jamie Langenbrunner didn't participate in the Blues' Monday morning skate, but he's still projected to play Monday night.
Langenbrunner is apparently battling the flu. If you have him in your fantasy squad, it's up to you to either trust Blues coach Ken Hitchcock's prediction or find an alternative for Monday's contest.

Jamie Langenbrunner scored the lone goal for the Blues as they fell 2-1 to the Wild.
Langenbrunner scored late to break up the Josh Harding shutout. The goal was his first of the season. The Wild suffocated the Blues all game so this result came as no surprise. Vladimir Sobotka and Alex Pietrangelo picked up assists on the goal.

Jamie Langenbrunner will open the season on the top line alongside David Backes and Andy McDonald.
It was thought when training camp opened that Langenbrunner would play with Jason Arnott, a teammate with New Jersey and Dallas for many years, and Alex Steen. But the Blues liked him him Backes and it has worked out thus far. "We knew that we were going to take a look at that right away," coach Davis Payne said. "You think that something is going to look good all summer long, and all of the sudden guys get on the ice, and they're reading each other and communicating and things happen. We like what we see with those guys now. We'll continue to monitor it, and if it's continuing to get results, then perfect. ... If not, we've got lots of combinations that we can go to." Look for Matt D'Agostini to take over the role alongside Arnott and Steen on the third line.

Jamie Langenbrunner will look to take on a leadership role for the Blues.
Langenbrunner said in the past he lost some passion for the game in 2010-11. This year his role is different as he is relied upon to teach the young Blues the ropes. "Jersey had weighed on me so much," Langenbrunner said. "I've always been the type of guy that plays with a lot of emotion and heart, and when you feel like you're not really part of it, it was tough, especially when you're the captain. I didn't enjoy playing hockey anymore, and that is no way to play in this league." Don't expect an offensive surge from him but he can be useful if he gets on a streak.

Langenbrunner, who played for the Stars and Devils last season, could be a nice fit in St. Louis. He would no doubt be a good mentor some of the Blues' young talent. Stay tuned.
